[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Hello. I use Merlin 384.13. I need to install a IPVanish VPN applet. I cannot find a place on Merlin to input the commands to install. Documentation for DD-WRT points to System->Commands however I cannot find a comparable box in Merlin. thanks, Bj

scMerlin scMerlin - service and script control menu for AsusWRT-Merlin

Thanks. I actually meant how would scMerlin do that. Restart Internet or WiFi services? I'm not sure I ever had either happen although I have had to re-boot a few times when the router (AC3100) burped, maybe this would have been just the thing for me.

Wow, this really could not have happened!

Well, I did a nuke reset and the router seems ok. I have not switched back to the 3100, however, it's offline, flashed with Merlin 384_11.2 and AMTM. I'll install Diversion today, Astrill VPN and Skynet a little later and let that settle for a day or so. I am so grateful for everyone's help...

Wow, this really could not have happened!

That's quite the list. Thanks to everyone for their help. I appreciate it. Hopefully, one way or another I can bring the poor router back to former glory!

Wow, this really could not have happened!

Good catch. Initially, I thought all the ports were dead. Turns out it was just the WAN port and all wireless.

Wow, this really could not have happened!

I had some spare time and the house was empty (ie: no network users) so I upgraded my Asus 3100 from 384.10_2 to 384_11.2. It seems to go ok and I received a message to manually reboot at the end. Fair enough, well nothing worked, wired and wireless were dead. The router had all the usual lights...

    Network extender and DHCP

Well, everyone, it is finally working. I assigned it an IP, just like I did 10 times before and now it works. I 'm not sure I have the patience or desire to find out what I had done wrong, I'm just happy the patio finally has a strong signal. thank-you everyone for your help. Bj

    Network extender and DHCP

All most folks have to do is launch the setup and pick the network to extend. Jus ta few minutes and you are away and running. Here it was nutty, the extender always failed to give the PC using the extender an IP number. Bj

    Network extender and DHCP

Well, I'm 99% of the way there! With the route line added (192.168.1.254 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.1.1) my whole network goes funny. Slows right down and I sometimes cannot get to pages without a few refreshes. I removed the route line with no luck and. I tried a router reboot with no luck...

    Network extender and DHCP

Woohoo, the route statement was it! I added that and I can ping the world from the extender. Now just find the perfect spot to plug it in and all is well in the household again. Funny how chest pains go away after something big (well to me) is successful. thanks very much, Bj

    Network extender and DHCP

Hi. I leave out everything when I am frustrated. It was when I gave the extender a static IP 192.168.1.254, 255.255.255.0 with a gateway of 192.168.1.1 it finally allowed me to ping my router at 192.168.1.1 Please bear with me here, by 2nd router do you mean the extender? To use the TP Link...

    Network extender and DHCP

thanks Colin, by see I meant able to ping. So I can ping the router however I cannot ping outside my network. When setting the extender up I do get a list of networks that I can choose from to extend. That part goes fine. thanks

    Network extender and DHCP

Well, Colin after much playing around I got the extender to see the router. The router is 1.1 and the extender is 1.254. I am still unable to ping outside however this is a big start. Any ideas where to look now? thanks

    Network extender and DHCP

That's part of the problem Colin, the device does not see the router. That's what is driving me nuts, it should not be this hard. thanks

    Network extender and DHCP

I set a couple of these up in the past (different network) and they were remarkably easy. This time it is nuts. Connecting to either extender I cannot ping my router. The TP-Link shows Dynamic IP: failed in its status screen. I only say they are successfully set up in that they point to the...

    Network extender and DHCP

Hello, I have an Asus AC3100 router running Merlin with no problems. I'm trying to set up an extender to get the network signal a little stronger on the patio. I have tried a no-name China device and a TP-Link (850) model with the same results. I get no internet service no matter what device I...
