I didn't understand it either. You're right that they end up in the same place though. I just blamed it on Microsoft:-)

Trying to follow that link didn't work for me, but this will get you there: https://www.asuswrt-merlin.net/test-builds

    Diversion Diversion 5.1.3 - the Router Ad-Blocker, May 09, 2024

If you have Diversion installed, go to the router's web UI and look at the LAN/Diversion tab.

    Diversion Diversion 5.1.3 - the Router Ad-Blocker, May 09, 2024

It really is worth the trip. Just spent two weeks on NZ's South Island before returning to Oz and loved every minute of it. Incredibly beautiful country.

Low-Power SSD for amtm, Diversion, Entware and Tailscale on the USB 2.0 Port (USB 3.0 configured as USB 2.0)

There really is magic in there. After doing a manual backup of my Diversion whitelist to facilitate the swap from a USB thumb drive to the new SSD, I discovered that Diversion will back itself up to jfss and then use that backup to reinstall Diversion on a new drive. I didn't have to a thing...

Low-Power SSD for amtm, Diversion, Entware and Tailscale on the USB 2.0 Port (USB 3.0 configured as USB 2.0)

Now you tell me… (Typed from the smouldering ashes of what used to be my home office.🔥🔥🔥)

Low-Power SSD for amtm, Diversion, Entware and Tailscale on the USB 2.0 Port (USB 3.0 configured as USB 2.0)

Just got the package. The ORICO enclosure @Tech9 recommended has an ASMedia controller, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Low-Power SSD for amtm, Diversion, Entware and Tailscale on the USB 2.0 Port (USB 3.0 configured as USB 2.0)

Thanks so much. I'll grab those and back them up just in case.

Low-Power SSD for amtm, Diversion, Entware and Tailscale on the USB 2.0 Port (USB 3.0 configured as USB 2.0)

Looks like my new SSD and enclosure will be delivered today, which leads to this follow up: what's the best way to make the switch from using a USB stick to the SSD? I don't want to mess around with cloning the drive, so my plan is simply to uninstall Skynet and Diversion (which should also...

Low-Power SSD for amtm, Diversion, Entware and Tailscale on the USB 2.0 Port (USB 3.0 configured as USB 2.0)

Thanks for this, Tech9. Your recommendations made this too cheap and too easy not to do. Two Amazon searches was all it took.

    Diversion Diversion 5.1.3 - the Router Ad-Blocker, May 09, 2024

What about running the large list on slightly less shiny and new routers, like the venerable RT-AC86U? I currently run the standard list (Diversion and Skynet are the only scripts I run), but all this talk about the large list has got me wondering why I'm settling for something… less large...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

Yeah, the Network map has never worked consistently for me on my AC-86U. I just figured it was a "feature" of all ASUS firmwares and gave up expecting it to be useful. Coming from years of Linkysys routers and Tomato firmwares (back to the very first Tomato release on a WRT54G), it was the one...

    I'm new - router recommendations?

Well, not anyone. I, for example, would struggle:-)

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 Beta is available for select models

Agree. Time and technology always leave people behind:-) I'm more than happy with my Merlin-powered AC86U, so a feature freeze doesn't bother me. Happy and grateful that Merlin will continue to provide updates when he can, and that Merlin development will continue on new routers.

    iOS Shortcut for Diversion

Twelve years in-between Macs for me and a lot has changed. But Shortcuts on the desktop system was a pleasant surprise.

    iOS Shortcut for Diversion

Can report this works a treat on my M1 iMac as well as on iOS. Shortcuts was added to macOS 12, I think, and syncs automatically across my Mac and iOS device.

    [ 386.7 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

To be honest, I rarely look at the log. If there's an issue I might examine it, but when things are working as expected, I don't care what the log says:) But I took a look for you and could not find any "bcm_mcast_mld_add:833" messages in my log file. I have no idea whether or not they were...

RT-AC86U alpha up as of 46 minutes ago as well. Thanks for the heads-up!

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.5 Beta is now available

Happy to report that the one 2.4 wireless device I mentioned my RT-AC86U had issues with (a Dolphin robotic pool cleaner) has been connected for 78 hours since I loaded the 386.5 beta.
