    GT-AC5300 New Firmware July 13 2020 - 3.0.0.4.384_81974

Out of curiosity...do you use AiProtection as well as the Traffic Analyzer on your GT-AC5300? I've noticed the history data was cleared out for both after the firmware update. I forwarded the logs and config data from within the Router to ASUS for review, and reported the log history (and port...

    GT-AC5300 New Firmware - Released Aug 4, 2020 3.0.0.4.384_82037

Confused as to why my port forwarding rules were wiped out, as well as some of my IPS log data. Odd glitch but everything else seems to be fine and fortunately I took screenshots of my forwarding rules awhile back so it was relatively easy to restore them, though had to do it manually.

    GT-AC5300 New Firmware July 13 2020 - 3.0.0.4.384_81974

I posted a new thread for the v82037 firmware release - for those who have virtual server/port forwarding rules configured within the WAN settings area, this firmware release will clear those out. I'm sure this was not an intended "feature" of the new firmware, and have no idea if ASUS is even...

    GT-AC5300 New Firmware - Released Aug 4, 2020 3.0.0.4.384_82037

Another FYI warning...Port Forwarding was wiped out with this update as well. If you've added port forwarding rules to your GT-AC5300, and are using it as a primary router, plan on re-creating those port fowarding rules after this firmware update.

    GT-AC5300 New Firmware - Released Aug 4, 2020 3.0.0.4.384_82037

New firmware was just released for the GT-AC5300 this morning EST, Aug 4th, 2020. Haven't checked the release notes yet. It's available via the admin web UI as of now, should be on the ASUS support site soon. So far the new firmware seems to run stable. No issues (so far) with Wifi throughput...

    ASUS RT-AC68U - New Firmware 3.0.0.4.385_20632 Released July 24, 2020

5Ghz doesn't travel as far or through walls as well as 2.4Ghz (if your speakers are somewhat far from your wifi router, you won't get as strong of a signal compared to 2.4Ghz), but 2.4Ghz as RMerlin stated is going to be affected more so by interference than the 5Ghz band. I recommend...

    ASUS RT-AC68U - New Firmware 3.0.0.4.385_20632 Released July 24, 2020

I was able to run the update this evening EST US time on another RT-AC68U used as primary router, so it appears the update is available within the admin web UI within the US.

Asus RT-AC86U 3.0.0.4.384_81992 - Does Traffic Analyzer only display traffic from the modem?

It's monitoring inbound and outbound traffic from all devices to your ISP (internet), so you can view what each and every device on your network consumes or uploads to the WAN through your modem. It's not monitoring LAN traffic between devices on the same LAN/subnet. Not sure there's a lot of...

    GT-AC5300 New Firmware July 13 2020 - 3.0.0.4.384_81974

@oldguy - are you manually setting your control channel or leaving that on auto as well? I've noticed (using various Wifi analyzer tools) that when I set 5Ghz to the 80Mhz bands as well as setting a specific control channel (48 on 5Ghz-1 and 161 on 5Ghz-2). All 5Ghz AC clients are connecting to...

    GT-AC5300 New Firmware July 13 2020 - 3.0.0.4.384_81974

As long as there is not heavy interference on the 80Mhz channel and your clients are all capable of using the 80Mhz band/channel(s), I would always recommend setting the 5Ghz bands to 80Mhz manually to achieve the highest throughput.

    GT-AC5300 New Firmware July 13 2020 - 3.0.0.4.384_81974

I'm also using AiMesh - four (4) AC-68U and one (1) AC-86U. The GT-AC5300 router is definitely set manually to 80Mhz (N/AC mixed, control channel at 48) and the AiMesh nodes all seem to be following suit on 5Ghz.

    AC86U Memory Usage (81992)

That's fairly normal and is what I always observed when I used the AC86U as primary router. After a reboot the memory usage was lowest (reboot clears the memory), over time it would increase. I had the AC86U on a reboot schedule once a week which would clear out the memory every 7 days. Over...

    GT-AC5300 New Firmware July 13 2020 - 3.0.0.4.384_81974

I have mine manually set to use 80Mhz on both 5Ghz channels, wireless mode set to N/AC mixed. Speeds seem pretty solid using WiFi Speed test (from a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra - Android), nearly up to the rated link speed (700-800Mbps) when in nearby proximity to the GT-AC5300. @drabisan - are...

Anyone else "mount" their router like this?

I used to hang my 68U from a zip line. If a WiFi client was experiencing weak signal from the other side of my house, I'd just put a foot into and send it along the line to the other side of the house. AiMesh made my zip line unnecessary. Problem solved. ;)

    GT-AC5300 New Firmware July 13 2020 - 3.0.0.4.384_81974

New firmware was released for the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 some time this morning, July 13th 2020. Will post release notes shortly. Updated via the Router's web GUI this morning and so far everything is working fine (GT-AC5300 is my primary router). CPU cores seem stable with minimal loads...

Just ran the upgrade this morning - so far no issues, though I'm running the 86U as an AiMesh node.
