    I did not do a full reset for the beta. I saw that the wireless driver was updated. Is a full factory reset needed or recommended going from .18 to .19 on an AX88U?

    But the Asus routers use DC power. The AC input is being transformed and stepped down so not sure what good a UPS would do or what issues fluctuations in AC current would cause.

    Updated to the latest Alpha for my AX88U and anecdotally the performance seems much better. Getting better throughout and much more consistent. Was using .17 and it was always all over the place for me performance wise, and needed a reboot about once every few days.

    RT-AC86U or RT-AX88U if buying now?

    I just made this choice. Key for me was support for WiFi 6 (AX) clients with the AX88U. Performance with WiFi 5 (AC) clients is theoretically better, but not sure you’d see it in reality.

    RT-AX88U Hardware Revision A1 vs A1.1

    Mine is A1.1 made in Vietnam. Sounds like they did something to improve the cooling in the 1.1 rev.

    Same. Previous routers (AC1900P, AC86U) have typically been in the 75-85 C range. The AX88U is sitting at 58 C.
