    ASUS RT-AC68U firmware release 3.0.0.4.384_81351

Updated my 68U's (all are AiMesh nodes) to v81351 via the GUI this afternoon. No issues to note...roaming seems fine, didn't have to do any resetting after the update completed. The 86U (which I use as my main router) is still on v81049, so I won't benefit from the LetsEncrypt update until the...

    ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384_81049

Did you reset then re-add the Aimesh node? Usually that resolves a lot of Aimesh flakiness.

    ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384_81049

Upgraded via "firmware upgrade" button within UI...no problems so far. CPU usage seems normal and the Web UI works as expected.

    ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384.81039

Firmware updates usually include security enhancements and bug fixes, so it's best to keep up-to-date on them. ASUS dropped the ball with Q&A before releasing their update on 8/22. I usually grab their latest firmware within a day or two of release and hadn't had any issues up until this latest...

    ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384.81039

I more or less received the same email. Then I got a couple of calls from ASUS (California area code) the following day suggesting that I save my settings to CFG (I always do this anyway) and not import them, rather I should reconfigure the router from scratch after I've updated to the 81039...

    ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384_81039

I usually just screenshot everything and save the jpg files just in case. As for those having problems and others not having them, probably depends on configuration and other factors. I'd be surprised though if there weren't at least some issues encountered even on a primarily default config...

    ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384.81039

The 81039 firmware was the buggiest I've seen in a long time (RT-AC86U). I went back and forth with ASUS support engineers since the night it was released back on 8/22. Clearly a lot of users reported issues. At least they're aware of it and pulled the update. Oddly enough, on my AiMesh nodes...

    ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384_81039

I've been working with ASUS support regarding the problems with the 81039 firmware update since the night it was released on 8/22. Even on a blank-slate, the CPU usage is all over the place and the GUI is slow. Adding AiMesh nodes would cause the UI to crash. The UI would also crash at random...

Update RT-AC68U to 3.0.0.4.384_20624, got login attempts non-stop

I'm seeing the same thing. Unlikely that it coincides with the firmware update. Home router hack attempts have been all over the news the past few days thanks to Malware that has spread itself around, known as "VPN Filter". Use a fairly lengthy complex password with numbers and special...

ASUS RT-AC68U - NAT acceleration on Merlin

I've been considering flashing Merlin's WRT over my stock ASUS firmware running on my RT-AC68U (I'm running the latest 3.0.0.4.384_20942 released May 22nd, 2018). Just wanted to know if someone would confirm if Level 2 NAT acceleration is working properly with the latest firmware, 384.5 - CTF as...

    AC88U - Update to 384.5 ??

Definitely true - newer versions also have bug fixes and sometimes include additional features which may be useful. With all of the router hacks that are known out there it's good to keep current.

    RT-AC68U - CPU pegged at 100% on 384.4_2

I ended up reverting to the ASUS firmware from 4/3/18, things seem to be running well now. CPU usage is generally below 10% on both cores with traffic monitoring enabled. I did have traffic analyzer enabled but didn't get the chance to look into the problem in more detail while it was occurring...

[AC68U] 100% CPU usage and terrible throughput after upgrading from 380 to 384.4_2

Seeing these same issues on my RT-AC68U under 384.4_2. Has anyone narrowed down the cause of the 100% CPU issue? I'm using the default config, more or less, with some WAN port forwarding enabled for a few of the devices within my network.

    RT-AC68U - CPU pegged at 100% on 384.4_2

After about 1-2 days of uptime, I've noticed one of the CPU cores on my RT-AC68U getting pegged at 100% to the point where connectivity is slow/unreliable and the router has to be power cycled to restore it back to normal. I'm basically using the default configuration on the router, roughly 15...

    AC68U - WiFi failing with 380.69_0 and 380.68_4 ...

My NVRAM usage is about the same, it's usually between 54000-58000. That's about 95% NVRAM usage. I wonder if that poster was referring to RAM, I usually have 180MB free out of 250MB.

[Beta 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.2 Beta is now available

Missed this thread...just wanted to report the clkfreq nvram setting is reset to default after rebooting the RT-AC68U on v3.82.2 beta2. Not sure if this is already known or not, or if there is a workaround.

    RT-AC68U - 3.82.2 beta2 bug report (minor)

Just a minor issue I've noticed on 3.82.2 beta 2 - when overclocking the router, the nvram clkfreq is reset to default after a reboot. Follow these steps to verify the issue: 1. open up a SSH session to the router and login 2. Run "nvram get clkfreq" the verify cpu frequency of 800 Mhz 3. "set...
