New GT-AX6000 Maybe hacked with some custom firmware? HELP!

Yes, thanx, I know the "ASUS_XX" is default SSID.. my concern was that it was completely open, with NO WEP/WPA assigned, even just using a default, initial password (ie the one printed on the sticker on the bottom of the router). ;) Hmm.. Idk about the phone. We have fiber coming into a small...

New GT-AX6000 Maybe hacked with some custom firmware? HELP!

Have already done that twice. ;) Attached my first syslog, when I think the initial issues started. I also have the next two, from right after, when I tried reflashing 3.0.0.6.102_34810.

New GT-AX6000 Maybe hacked with some custom firmware? HELP!

No... Never used the function, even on my old RT-AC66_BU. BTW, thinking of the AC66, and why i just had to replace it with the AX6000, last Oct, I had basically the same symptoms of the Wifi dropping in & out, and admin accessability getting progressively worse at every reboot & firmaware...

New GT-AX6000 Maybe hacked with some custom firmware? HELP!

So I just got a new GT-AX6000 to replace my RT-AC66_BU a couple months ago. A couple weeks ago, I got a hang up call on our fiber digital phone land line, and my wifi disconnected. About 4-5mins later, same number called & hung up again. About that time, since I couldnt reconnect to the wifi, I...

    EoL RT-AC86U replacement

Thank for the reply. Yeahhhh... Its obviously marketing shenannigans. Right from the Asus Store, to listings on Amazon, NewEgg, BestBuy, etc, I hate that it just makes it all that more confusing.

    EoL RT-AC86U replacement

So I'm shopping for a replacement router, and I see the AX57 also called the AX-3000, which *does* show as a supported device. :( I see alot of the Asus routers branded marketed that way. :( Sooo difficult to tell *exactly* which are/are not Merlin-supported :(

v386.xx EOL: How to tell which routers have what version firmware?

Sorry if this has been covered already. I Read a bunch of threads related to my router, and looked at the Asus list of EoL stuff. Still have questions, tho. So, I dont know if my RT-AC66U-B1 recently got hacked or what, but even after reinstalling stock, and the last couple of Asus-Wrt...

Is there a script/way to limit/cap daily data *usage*?

Thanx for the informative reply, Linux_Chemist. ;) I guess I should have given more info, as it might have saved you quite a bit of typing, tho. Sorry. Currently, I *do* have things setup pretty well. I currently have all the devices I want limited, setup on the 2.4GHz wifi, with static IPs...

Is there a script/way to limit/cap daily data *usage*?

So I searched but couldnt come up with anything. I just recently bought an ASUS router, and installed Merlin. My situation: I am "unofficially" data capped by my ISP. Even tho they *swear* they dont cap, I have been cutoff many times when I hit 100~120GB/month. It wasnt too much of a problem...
