    This is what they say now - if they see that the sales of $550+ router are not going so well and a competition form Asus, D-Link are pushing strong - their approach to "lease only" and "premier membership" could change quickly. Just my 2 guessing cents :)

    This alpha for RT-AX88U is merged with GPL 384_5247. All my troubles with this router were impossible to fix/detect the problem. The major one was 5GHz radio going dead. The situation improved for a couple of days after going with the official FW .5329. Then the whole story started all over...

    Bricking is always a possibility... I have been using Hugo's fork (based on official FW) on many routers over the last few years, sometimes going back and forth between the firmwares and never experienced any problems. I still have a few old 68's and 87's with Hugo's FW on them and they work...

    Have you considered using a "non-standard" aka unofficial firmware on your beloved 87U? ;) Something that would give you an option to increase the transmission rate/speed. You can make your router not necessary "shout" but just get it "loud" enough that your wireless clients will "understand" it...

    I am so happy that you were able to find it. I didn't experience any problems since .5247 was released and was hoping that once you will get GPL for this FW we all be trouble free (wifi at least) but unfortunately I've got hit with 5GHz disappearing this morning for the first time since 11/22...

    RT-AX88U Merlin support?

    Do you have problems with both wireless bands? Or just 5GHz like it was in my case. Also, turn off the smart connect, reboot and try again.
