RP-AX58: Poor speeds using AiMesh but ok in Access Point mode

After tonnes of emails to & from Asus support they have come to the following conclusion: Does that make sense?

RP-AX58: Poor speeds using AiMesh but ok in Access Point mode

I think it could well be a firmware bug on the RP-AX58 as its a relatively new release. I've reported the issue to Asus via the GUI of the node, Administration>Feedback and yet to receive a reply.

RP-AX58: Poor speeds using AiMesh but ok in Access Point mode

Thanks guys. I have disabled 'ethernet backhaul' setting in AiMesh settings but still can't get more than 200 Mbps from each extender. I wonder if the extenders channel bandwidth is set to 20/40 Mhz (instead of also including 80/160 Mhz)? But I believe the wifi settings of the extender can't be...

RP-AX58: Poor speeds using AiMesh but ok in Access Point mode

Hi, I have an Asus XT12 which I'm using as the main router and 3 plug-in 'range extender' units, RP-AX58 which are connected via ethernet to the XT12. Each RP-AX58 is plugged in one of the 3 bedrooms as wifi coverage from the main router is extremely poor because of thick walls. My internet...

Wifi 6E equipped laptop not detecting Wifi 6E network

It seems there's a driver v22.45.11 for AX210 card floating around which enables wifi 6E on Windows 10. Will try this later on to see if it also works for AX211 on Win 10 https://community.intel.com/t5/Wireless/ax210-window-10-21h2-not-showing-6GHz-networks/m-p/1341116#M39195

Wifi 6E equipped laptop not detecting Wifi 6E network

Thanks guys. 1. I'm using 4 unique SSIDs (1x2.4ghz, 2x5ghz & 1 x6ghz) on the router and I would prefer to keep it that way. Smart connect is off 2. On my Thinkpads I've always used Lenovo's Vantage software to update firmware as it updates everything in a few clicks, instead of having to spend...

Wifi 6E equipped laptop not detecting Wifi 6E network

Hi I got my Thinkpad T16 laptop delivered today (w/ Intel wifi 6E AX211 160mhz card installed) but unfortunately its not picking up the wifi 6E network on my TP Link AXE300 router. Intel wifi driver is up to date on the T16, though i haven't updated Windoze (Win 10 Pro x64) as i plan to replace...

TP Link Archer AXE16000 - poor upload speeds (~1 Mbps)

Hi Sorry for the late response. Yes my AXE300/16000 router is still working fine, no issues. Don't have any wifi 6E clients, still waiting for my Thinkpad T16 laptop to be delivered and then I can test wifi6E speeds. I have a TP Link plugin range extender RE700X which works very well with the...

TP Link Archer AXE16000 - poor upload speeds (~1 Mbps)

An update: its fixed! Plugged the ONT into the 10G combined WAN port coloured blue (previously I think i only tried the 2.5G and 10G standalone WAN ports) and bingo the upload is now at around 120 Mbps. Had to cancel the Teamviewer session :)

TP Link Archer AXE16000 - poor upload speeds (~1 Mbps)

No, the AXE300 i have does not have motorized antennas. Not sure if TP Link decided against having motorized antennas or will use them on a different AXE model. This is the model i have: https://www.tp-link.com/us/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-axe300/ I've arranged a remote Teamviewer...

TP Link Archer AXE16000 - poor upload speeds (~1 Mbps)

Yes, played around with QoS & all other suggestions in that thread but it made no difference. TP Link support asked me to connect it to existing router (Asus RT-AX89X), turn off VLAN settings and see if it improves speeds. Indeed it did as upload speeds are back to 100+ Mbps but re-connecting...

TP Link Archer AXE16000 - poor upload speeds (~1 Mbps)

Yep, probably am lol. I did consider the equivalent Asus model but given my poor experience of the GT-AX11000 with poor quality floppy antennas (happened on 2 units, so clearly a design/QC issue) i was a tad hesitant spending north of $500 on the Asus AXE16000. Anyway no such issues on the TP...

TP Link Archer AXE16000 - poor upload speeds (~1 Mbps)

Hi, I have an FTTH Etisalat 300/120 Mbps line and have just bought a TP link AXE16000 router, this is to replace an Asus RT-AX89X. But no matter what I try, i never get more than 1-2 Mbps on upload with the TP Link. QoS is off. Anyone else seeing the same? It seems other TP Link AX models...

Any way to switch off wifi auto channel selection on RAX120?

I recently bought a RAX120 and despite manually selecting a channel on the 5ghz band in router settings I've noticed the router changes the chosen 5ghz channel to a different channel later on. 'Smart connect' is switched off. So I'm guessing the router is using auto channel selection despite no...

Any way to get 5ghz channels 149+ on UK bought Asus routers?

Is region changing only illegal on USA purchased routers? In which case Asus could allow region changing on non-USA purchased routers just like Netgear do. Probably wishful thinking again but perhaps Merlin could create a separate firmware fork for non USA routers which could include features...

Any way to get 5ghz channels 149+ on UK bought Asus routers?

Yes I did https://www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0036/198927/6ghz-statement.pdf But they ignored it. Like I said most likely down to poor staff training.

Any way to get 5ghz channels 149+ on UK bought Asus routers?

I did indeed and I might as well not have bothered. Asus support basically told me that their UK purchased routers comply with local wifi regulations, which is a load of rubbish. In other words Asus support aren't aware that ch 149-165 are now legal in UK. Probably down to poor staff training...

Any way to get 5ghz channels 149+ on UK bought Asus routers?

But why are Asus are not recognizing that UK market models should suppport the higher channels at 5ghz? My guess is its too much work for them to separate UK models from Europe/EU models, ie they're being lazy. Maybe Merlin would like to introduce a region change feature on his custom firmware...
