    Zyxel NWA210AX

A Ahh, thanks! I was looking for that document. And yes, I agree. I'm an EE and I use to read these diagrams with ease but without practice you tend to forget everything. Ubiquiti publishes them the same way. I think it's the "only" way, anyway. I have a small condo (around 60 sqm.) and one AP...

    Zyxel NWA210AX

That's what I thought. If this AP's radiation pattern is anything like the circle Ubiquiti Unifi AP's, then it would also be a doughnut shaped pattern. So wall mount isn't really ideal because you won't get good signal from the back of the AP. And yes, ceiling mount is best. I guess I have to...

    Zyxel NWA210AX

Also, what is the radiation pattern for this AP? Right now, I have it just sitting horizontally on my desk but I'm thinking of wall mounting it depending on its radiation pattern. I cannot ceiling mount it because I live in a condo and the ceiling is not hollow.

    Zyxel NWA210AX

Right but in terms of feature sets, are they exactly the same? I don't care much about the potential security exposure since this is just for home use anyway. What's more important for me is I get the better feature set between the two. Can you also not use the voucher system for captive...

    Zyxel NWA210AX

I'll post the same PM I sent to Tech Junky just now so everyone can chime in: I just got the NWA210AX that I bought and I'm trying to set it up. Which between standalone and Nebula mode are you using? Mine's currently connected to the Nebula Cloud but I'm not sure if it's better to just go...

    Building a home server/network rack

Yes, Brocade. A used ICX6450-48P is just around $120 from eBay. Read about them here: https://forums.servethehome.com/index.php?threads/brocade-icx-series-cheap-powerful-10gbe-40gbe-switching.21107/ It's not complex. It's a simple switch and I have enough networking knowledge to handle it. And...

    Building a home server/network rack

Lol, I can see how that came out dirty. Edited the post.

    Building a home server/network rack

    * I edited my first post to reflect the potential placement of the network gears (from top to bottom). I didn't realized it was in the wrong format. Well, yeah, at this point I'm more concerned about the placement. Would 2 x patch panels and 2 x 2U horizontal finger ducts make sense? With the...

    Building a home server/network rack

I'm buying the Boracade ICX6450 for my sister's new house and will be building on a small server rack from scratch. Since I'm not an expert on rack builds, I might as well ask here. My plan for this rack is (from top to bottom) 1U 24p patch panel 2U cable manager (horizontal finger duct) 1U...

Upgrade Wifi 5 to Wifi 6 in a condo?

And I don't really need channels 12 and 13 for 2.4GHz. We're sticking with channels 1, 6, and 11. The US and the Philippines also have the same max Tx power limitations. If you didn't know, our country was a US colony for 48 years in the past and there are several US practices/standards that...

Upgrade Wifi 5 to Wifi 6 in a condo?

Why wouldn't it have anything to do with Gigabit connection? Correct, 10 devices. 3-5 users on the average. You lost me here. I know pfsense supports native VLAN (VLAN1) but I thought all other managed network devices do as well? A home router like the Asus routers do not have VLAN support so...

Upgrade Wifi 5 to Wifi 6 in a condo?

What do you mean? Which wrong direction are you talking about? The wifi frequencies in the US and the Philippines are pretty much the same so no issues there.

Upgrade Wifi 5 to Wifi 6 in a condo?

The RT-AX68U only has 3x3 antenna array, right? How does it have a superior wifi over the Zyxel NWA210AX?

Upgrade Wifi 5 to Wifi 6 in a condo?

Unfortunately, this is not a luxury that I have because I live in the Philippines but I'm used to order things from the US as the total cost (including logistics) of most products there is almost always significantly lower than when I buy electronics here, at the sacrifice of usually losing...

Upgrade Wifi 5 to Wifi 6 in a condo?

Oh, I didn't know that. So it's all marketing hype for TWT, at least for now. Good to know. He is recommending this which is at $146.5 now at Amazon. So now I'm confused which one is better in terms of wireless.

Upgrade Wifi 5 to Wifi 6 in a condo?

I see. I'm also using a couple Ubiquiti wifi 5 AP's in my parent's house and they also work great. I don't know yet about their wifi 6 offerings though. For a router, I already use a dedicated pfsense box using an PCEngines APU2C4 board since several years ago and it's working great. I'm fine...

Upgrade Wifi 5 to Wifi 6 in a condo?

I see. How's the NWA210AX working for you? Is Zyxel a reputable brand in the AP space? 5 to 10 users on the average. Mostly work-related (so emails), Netflix/Youtube/Tiktok streaming. So in general, the load is light. I have 300Mbps/300Mbps Internet speed. I'm kinda expecting that an upgrade...

Upgrade Wifi 5 to Wifi 6 in a condo?

I'll be buying a Samsung Galaxy S22+ very soon so I will have one client that can benefit from wifi 6/6E especially the batter savings. Technically, I only need a WAP to upgrade my current wifi 5 Asus RT-AC66U to either wifi 6 or wifi 6E. I live in a small condo that’s only around 55 sqm. so a...

Upgrading RT-AC66U to either RT-AX68U or RT-AX86U, worth it?

A discussion about pros and cons of different options is still better. I read every post in this thread. I don't see @SoCalReviews saying about any "sale" for the AX86U. Am I just really blind?

Upgrading RT-AC66U to either RT-AX68U or RT-AX86U, worth it?

Yeah, well, this thread is more of a preparation for what I would need to buy when I need to in the future. For example, when I upgrade my phone to one that is wifi 6, I would want to be experiencing AX speeds even if it's just for local file transfers. Does the RT-AX86U ever go on sale?
