    Any understand repeater mode?

I would do this. I just recently got fiber to my house as well and mounted the ISP Fiber to Eth box in the garage and then ran a cat6 from the garage to my office. I also ran a new 110 outlet next to it in the garage so I did not have to run an extension cord. Very clean setup with all the...

Beta ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 Firmware v9.0.0.6.102.4856

That too would be nice although it has not been an issue for me at this point. I do like how on the main subnet you can set the dns server for a reserved host. Bit annoying that it knocks out the network for a few seconds every time you save a new reservation though.

Beta ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 Firmware v9.0.0.6.102.4856

I have not messed with that setting yet but under Guest Network Pro you can add a VPN network with its own wireless SSID. Main thing I want now is firewall rules between the vlans.

Beta ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 Firmware v9.0.0.6.102.4856

I tried it today and that did work. I assigned the vlan on an access port and made sure it worked without being able to access other vlans. I then went to Guest Network Pro and clicked on the guest vlan>general settings>wifi band> none.

Repeater connected to Guest SSID bypassing Access Intranet = Disable

Thank you for acknowledging it. I understand that if this is a big issue for someone that they should be using better equipment but that does not mean that Asus should ignore it. In the corporate world this would be a huge concern and a company like Cisco would have it fixed within days.

Repeater connected to Guest SSID bypassing Access Intranet = Disable

WDS is not being used and wps is disabled. It is being used as a standard repeater. This AP you pulled out was it an ASUS wireless router in repeater mode? If not then it does not apply to this issue.

Repeater connected to Guest SSID bypassing Access Intranet = Disable

That might be the way its designed to work but when using an Asus router in repeater mode that is not the way it works.

Repeater connected to Guest SSID bypassing Access Intranet = Disable

It puts you on the main network. You get an IP on the main network and not the guest. Like mentioned its a security flaw. I have not dug deep into the logs to figure out why exactly. Several people have confirmed this if you don't believe us try it yourself.

Repeater connected to Guest SSID bypassing Access Intranet = Disable

Here is the list someone posted in another thread. The firmware allows you to create guest networks on their own subnet and you can also assign them to switchports in access or trunk mode. VLAN supported models: RT-AX86U Pro, RT-AX88U Pro GT-AX11000 Pro, GT-AXE16000, GT-AX6000...

Repeater connected to Guest SSID bypassing Access Intranet = Disable

Ok I will try to explain another way. Say you are a small business owner of a coffee shop who is using one of these Asus routers. You are allowing free internet access to customers and have it posted on the wall. Anyone can use another Asus router in repeater mode and select your guest network...

Repeater connected to Guest SSID bypassing Access Intranet = Disable

If something is allowing access where it should not thats a security flaw. Asus pro firmware has just enough features for me but it needs tweaks.

Beta ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 Firmware v9.0.0.6.102.4856

Thought I read that it creates a guest SSID though. #3 on the original post.

Beta ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 Firmware v9.0.0.6.102.4856

I did see that and plan to try it out soon. Would be nice to be able to create vlans without the wireless SSID's but not a huge deal as I could just hide the SSID if it bothers me. Would also be nice if the firewall let you create rules for traffic between the vlans but then I guess I would be...

Router Upgrade with Wireless VLAN capability

Is they both support vlans im sure the software options are pretty similar. I would guess its mainly the hardware performance that separates them.

Router Upgrade with Wireless VLAN capability

I dont really keep up with home network products till I need to upgrade but ide say they all have their issues. Depends on what you want to spend really. Narrow down the choices with the features you want and watch some comparison videos or reviews.

Repeater connected to Guest SSID bypassing Access Intranet = Disable

Exact issue I ran into today and same reason why I did not do AiMesh. I ended up using a different repeater that was not asus but this is a major security flaw. How has it been going on for years now as Asus has known about it.

Beta ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 Firmware v9.0.0.6.102.4856

After I realized it did not have all the features I wanted I abandoned connecting to it and didnt actually try it. I ended up using another brand range extender which worked fine. The added features this version has is great though. Just a few more tweaks and I would say its about perfect. Maybe...

Beta ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 Firmware v9.0.0.6.102.4856

After playing with it some more. I tried AImesh and got it to work but there was not enough options for me. I wasnt to be able to select exactly what networks are connected on the mesh node. I was able to turn on a guest network but could not find a way to turn off the main wifi network or...

Repeater connected to Guest SSID bypassing Access Intranet = Disable

I am experiancing this issue still as well. What about using AImesh and then with the Pro beta firmware I think you can disable ssid's from certain nodes.

Beta ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 Firmware v9.0.0.6.102.4856

Whenever you connect a repeater to the guest network it connects it to the main network for some reason. Same issue I had before the upgrade though.
