Potential break in the line? (disconnected AP)

I tried using the poe injector that came with the AP, no change. Damnit.

Potential break in the line? (disconnected AP)

There are 3 other runs going to the surrounding rooms, that all work fine. This is the one I never used, I left it for future use sitting in the attic. Just seems odd that ONE of the four would stop working. Two years ago I did try out setting up an AP on that line, and I'm pretty certain it...

Potential break in the line? (disconnected AP)

Hey all, I'm finally redoing my home network with Ubiquiti Gear (UDM, Flex, Nano, Switches). I'm largely up and running, minus my second floor AP (Nano). The device works fine when I connect closer to router on a patch cable; however, it its home spot ... I only get power. It always shows up...

Finally bailing on AiMesh in favor of Ubiquiti

Ugh, I saw that ... would have been tempting if it was in stock, but yeah ... I don't have a great spot to put it. Next house for sure.

Finally bailing on AiMesh in favor of Ubiquiti

Awesome, thanks @Trip. Now to figure out how best to mount this onto my wood board ... zip ties here we come!

Finally bailing on AiMesh in favor of Ubiquiti

Should I be concerned about mixing and matching different AP's? I feel confident this was the root of my issue with AiMesh. The above proposal has three different styles, although all are wave 2.

Finally bailing on AiMesh in favor of Ubiquiti

@Trip Thanks! Crazy enough, I just stumbled upon the UDM! For around $75 more, I can redo it all as such which in theory would give me more ... - UDM - 8port 60w - FlexHD - NanoHD Better setup? The UDM + 8 port (4 poe), will be exactly what I need vs. having to spend on the larger switch (+...

Finally bailing on AiMesh in favor of Ubiquiti

I've been waiting for so damn long to hear Uniquiti announce AX AP's, and yet ... nothing. Not sure I can keep waiting at this point. My AiMesh gets the job done, but I'm ready for a redesign. Some quick background: - ~3,500 sq ft (Basement + 2 floors) - Cat6 run to almost every room - Basement...

    Disconnects on AiMesh

I am super confused now. I took the ac66u offline thinking that was the culprit. Post that, a few Google homes and wemos have gone offline. Odd thing is, Google works just fine on 5ghz but won't connect on 2.4. Wemo only works on 2.4 and won't connect at all. These damn routers continue to be...

    Disconnects on AiMesh

Man, it's getting worse. My phones and laptops just randomly disconnect far too frequently. I've made no changes minus upgrading firmware (in an effort to fix the issue). Seems to only be wireless, wired are working great. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

    Disconnects on AiMesh

Hey all, After some support received here in the past, my routers (GT-AC5300, RT-AC5300, RT-AC66U B1 - with wired backhaul) have been rock solid for quite some time. Finally gave up on bailing on the system as things were ... perfect for several months. As of late, we're regularly running into...

    Asus WiFi capped at 100mb?

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback. More than likely I'm just missing it, but I don't actually see an option to revert back to router + AP's? Wireless router mode / AiMesh Router mode (Default) Access Point(AP) mode / AiMesh Router in AP mode Repeater mode Media Bridge AiMesh Node

    Asus WiFi capped at 100mb?

PC is hardwired to the ac5300, with cat5e. Phone is s10+. If I connect to the downstairs gt-ac5300, I'm getting 400. Beyond confused. Feel like I'm missing something elementary. AiMesh shows my nodes are connected via ethernet.

    Asus WiFi capped at 100mb?

So I spent the afternoon moving almost all devices over to a new 2.4 channel after disabling smart connect. Think I uncovered something new. My basement PC (one hop to router via 1gb switch), is getting 400mb. Yet up upstairs PC and my phone (which would be connected to the first floor router)...

    Asus WiFi capped at 100mb?

This is great feedback. Most of my primary devices (pc's, fire cube's, TV's, avr's, video game consoles) are all hard wired. Wireless supports all IoT (echo, Google home, ecobee, roomba, ring myq, phones, etc.). The convenience of a single SSID is clearly there but sounds like you're saying it's...

    Asus WiFi capped at 100mb?

Apologies for how this was worded. I am in essence capped at 100mb in my setup (via SmartConnect); however, I can break 100mb by going to a dedicated 5ghz channel.

    Asus WiFi capped at 100mb?

Would you like a screenshot? My OP says I'm unable to go above 100mb in this setup.

    Asus WiFi capped at 100mb?

Interesting. Using Asus smart connect, I can't control this, would have to disable and then can remove support. I'm curious to understand though, is this necessary/normal?

    Asus WiFi capped at 100mb?

I don't believe my router will tell me this. I don't think I have any, but most of my devices are IoT that probably use cheap/old components.
