Router to computer to other computer?

Thank you! Hopefully I can find one which works on USB power, because as I mentioned, I really did not want another device requiring external power.

Router to computer to other computer?

This is such a simple question that it's silly, but I haven't thought about this since we had coaxial cables with terminators... I have a router in my hallway. I'm forced to use a (10m) cable now to a computer in the office, but the "problem" is that I have two computers in my office. How do I...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

Well, my Padawan issues continue, because now the folder on the network shared disk I setup up on the router comes up empty, even though there was files in it last time I checked, and I can no longer write to it. But I guess that's what you get when you use homebrew like this. EDIT: I also...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

I have just downloaded RT-N56U_3.0.3.8-081_dlna.trx and tried the media server, however... On my PS3, I constantly get Dlna error 2104 whenever I try to go into a folder. On my TV, I can play a movie, but I don't get sound. On both of them, I can't get subtitles to work. Anyone encountered...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

I have now downloaded and installed this latest version 33 to test, but I will revert to plain ASUS 1.x firmware unless the following MAJOR flaw has been resolved: Ever since I begun using the Padawan firmware, ANY game I try basically kills the internet connection for my wife's computer...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

On the last version of the firmware, my Mac Mini did this. On this version of the firmware, the problem has moved to my Macbook Pro. It's only the stock Asus 1.0.1.7c that has been rock-solid so far. ALL other firmware updates have had disconnection issues on one computer, even the newer...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

Well, I already gave up. It was simply too much trouble, for an apparently very bare bones dlna implementation (I use PS3 Media Server on my Mac Mini which works 95% of the time... some files it refuses to play on the PS3 with it, but then, oddly my Philips TV's media client can play them...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

Thank you again for your reply, but if you read my revised post above more carefully, you'd notice that I removed the PS3 from the equation, and I still have severe issues... ;) But: 1. From your posts, I'm guessing you have no trouble rebuilding the database of the built-in media server? 2...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

Well, my Philips TV has dlna support, but that still doesn't answer why the built-in media server in this firmware randomly stops creating its database after only a few files... Has anyone gotten the entware version to work better, or any entware media server?

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

I have just installed their new 3.0.3.0-026 firmware with the new look, and also managed to follow the Wiki to get entware installed. Now, the question is, which media server should I use? Minidlna, xUPnPd? EDIT: Ok, I installed Minidlna and set the .conf file to point to my Videos folder and...
