    Asus RT-N66u with TomatoUSB firmware

Hi, I have the 105 AIO for n66u and everything is great. Just 1 question about using transmission. So when I want to use transmission to dl a torrent, I have to download the tracker onto my computer, then open transmission web gui, then open the folder then load the tracker? Is there a...

    Setting up Transmission through Entware

It shows closed but I can still download so I'll figure that out later. I have my disk to spin down after idle for 15mins. After my disk spins down and spins back up, transmission web interface doesn't work. I can get to the page but the middle where it should be blank has writing on it like...

    Setting up Transmission through Entware

nvm got it working. One other question, even though I did the firewall-start my port is still showing closed. so for firewall configuration, I put in "nano -w /jffs/scripts/firewall-start" then a page like the settings config page comes up so I put in #!/bin/sh iptables -I INPUT -p tcp...

[TUTORIAL] Native Transmission on asuswrt routers through optware

I was on .24 then reverted to .23b to make sure it wasn't the firmware. So I can assume everyone else using ext3 can write to it through the router's usb and this is just me?

RT-N66u USB ext3 no write permission

I have a Rt-n66u that is running on Merlin's firmware. I've been using a 2tb seagate goflex drive formatted to ntfs connected to the usb slot as my NAS which was decent. I wanted to install Transmission on it so I could dl stuff overnight with comp turned off but...

[TUTORIAL] Native Transmission on asuswrt routers through optware

ok so I deleted tons of old stuff I'll never need again and I formatted my 2tb goflex drive to ext3 using gparted. Then I had to use ext2volume manager to be able to see the ext3 drive on my windows 7. Then I moved about a 800gigs of data back onto it overnight. Plugged into windows, I can...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.270.24 BETA 4 is out

I updated to .24 from .23b this morning. Everything seems to be working ok but for me at least, I cannot access my usb drive. Right after update, I could access my drive but I could not write onto it. It kept saying I needed permission. I tried to reboot, and after the reboot, I cannot access...

[TUTORIAL] Native Transmission on asuswrt routers through optware

So, if I have a usb flash drive on sda1 and hdd on sdb1 I adjust the commands accordingly? when installing entware/optware, I'd install adjust the commands being put into Putty as sda1 and when installing the Transmission, I'd adjust the directories to sdb1 but leave the rest to sda1 so...

[TUTORIAL] Native Transmission on asuswrt routers through optware

Thanks, I guess that means on Tomato, entware/optware or Transmssion is installed somewhere on the router but in this case, I am installing it on the HDD? So, if I switch the HDD to a different one after I've installed Transmission, does that mean it is gone and I have to do this process over...

[TUTORIAL] Native Transmission on asuswrt routers through optware

is there any way to do it without ext2/3? The drive I'm using is formatted ntfs with over a terabyte of data on it so I can't format the drive as I'd lose all that data. Is there any way to do it without ext2/3? I used tomato for a couple days and it had Transmission on it and I was...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.266.23b is out

Thanks. I've read both your's and TeHashX's guide on installing transmission. I have a 2TB drive formatted to ntfs and it has about 1.3TB of data in it already so formatting it isn't an option as all my drives combined isn't enough to store the data temporarily while it's being formatted...

Is it possible to install something like transmission for torrents on Merlin build? Download Master never lets my HDD spin down but on Tomato, the using transmission to dl, my drive still spun down when idle.

    Asus RT-N66u with TomatoUSB firmware

whats the difference between AIO BT-VPN MEGA-VPN TOR-VPN AND VPN? I also see the changelog is different from the post above missing the last line about the USB. Was that something that could have fixed my 2MB/s wired write speed?

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.266.23b is out

Sorry, I meant plugged in USB disk. Its just a seagate goflex drive plugged into the usb slot. It has super slow read and write speed. When I try to access it through wired connection, I get 5-8MB/s read and write speed on your build. I tried Tomato Shibby and I get 2.5MB/s write speed...

    Asus RT-N66u with TomatoUSB firmware

lol I don't understand a single thing in the changelog but I see the word USB in the last change and I'm hoping that's going to fix my write speed. I've tried 3 different drives through a wired connection to the router and the write speed is no more than 2.5MB/s at best normally under 2...

Is it just me or is the link not working? I was hoping maybe the update would fix my slow usb issues but I can't get the site to load.

    Asus RT-N66u with TomatoUSB firmware

wireless I could partly understand and get over but a transfer speed of 2MB/s through a wired connection seems pretty crappy to me. Ugh... 2MB/s it takes forever to backup files to the NAS... ugh...

    Asus RT-N66u with TomatoUSB firmware

wow tat is really fast. you think maybe there is something wrong with mine on the hardware side? I've never been able to get anything past 8MB/s even on Merlin or stock build read or write when transfering files to and from the NAS both wired and wireless. I know it's not the drive because I...
