Do I have this right - Dual Band Question

I currently have a Linksys BEFSX41 (wired) for my routing. When I needed more ports, I added D-link DGS 2208 (wired) as by then my desktops all had gig ports, and I wanted better transfer of data between some of my gig clients for photo sharing and backups. I keep my printing segmented off...

Is a Dell Dim 8400 a good box for a NAS

OK, but how would I get the files into Windows? Would Ubuntu be able to access them in their native format, and then save them somewhere in a format that Windows could use? Sorry to keep asking. I don't know anything about Ubuntu and I have nightmares about a Unix system 15 years ago! :)

Is a Dell Dim 8400 a good box for a NAS

I'll be upgrading to a new home computer and will have a Dell Dim 8400 P4 3.0 MHz; 4GB RAM to find something to do with. I usually send it down stream to someone else in the family but there doesn't seem to be a need for it right now. SO, since I've been thinking about buying a NAS for a...

    Chart Comparing NAS Specs

I currently use an I/O/Magic 500GB external drive for backups. It tipped over today and yes, I lost the backups. Everytime I look into NAses to RAID 1 I decide to wait. Do any of you know of any charts that compare the specs on different NAS devices including the format of the drives? I...
