    Ax88u wan-lan throughput?

Does anyone have the numbers for wan-lan throughput on the ax88u with and without hardware acceleration? Wondering what the tradeoff is for enabling QoS and/or per-client traffic stats. Googled for an hour I give up!

Here's the full list of commands to change the transmit power. https://www.snbforums.com/threads/help-transmit-power-restriction-for-rt-n66u.9229/ You can also set your country code to #a (instead of US/EU) to remove all restrictions.

Hey, maybe a bug report (just me?).... When I change the priority on an existing User-Defined QoS rule and click save, it doesn't save. I have to remove and re-add the rule completely. AC66U with traditional QoS. Thanks. Edit: Also, if you have 3 rules with no Source IP/MAC specified, but...

Recommendation for wireless bridge, no repeating

Ya so if I setup an AP and they have an old desktop on the ground (picture an outdoor convention with booths), I have to get them wireless service. Those engenius devices look like they do proper bridging without broadcasting. I'll order a few to play with. Thanks for the suggestion!

Recommendation for wireless bridge, no repeating

I am providing wireless access to a large outdoor gathering. I have enterprise grade outdoor gear to handle the access points on 2.4ghz and 5ghz. I'm concerned some customers may not have wireless networking gear, so what I need is a wireless bridge that doesn't repeat and step all over my...

Feature request: When the tx power is set above 200mw from the cli, you can't make changes on the professional tab from the web interface. It says enter a value between 1 and 200. Any chance you can remove that dialog if the tx power hasn't changed? That should keep the 200mw max from the...

Bad 5Ghz, what tweaks do you have to boost 5Ghz?

N66u/AC66u transmit at the higher power levels on the lower channels. (thanks Asus!) http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wireless/wireless-features/32431-is-your-routers-transmit-power-juiced And since it takes less power to transmit at a lower frequency, you're better off on the lower channels...

    QoS not following priorities?

Try classifying some other application that can maximize your bandwidth, like FTP (21,1024-65535), and test that against HTTP with different QoS ratios.

    QoS not following priorities?

The problem with QoS on the downstream is the packets are already entering your network before the router can decide what to do with them. You need QoS from your provider for it to be effective. The nature of P2P opens many many connections. So your provider is sending you 100 p2p connections...

AC66U on .45 Maximum number of dns queries reached (150)

Maybe "netstat -u -a" will tell you why 150 connections are open. You could also install tcpdump via entware or optware, then run this; tcpdump -n -i any port 53 It might give you an idea what's up. Good luck.

AC66U on .45 Maximum number of dns queries reached (150)

If your upstream traffic is pretty maxed out, you have a problem. Don't allow recursive DNS lookups from the internet, authoritative only. If you can "nslookup google.com 1.2.3.4" (where 1.2.3.4 is your public WAN IP) from a computer outside your network (on the internet), then your DNS server...

AC66U on .45 Maximum number of dns queries reached (150)

150 concurrent DNS queries seems a bit high. DNS queries should be quick and done with, and then cached to prevent future queries. This could be a DNS amplification attack coming from your network, so I'd be looking at your network traffic to find one if it exists. (your upstream bandwidth in...

I would love backports of any fixes that affect router functions, but still sticks as close to possible to stock asus. For examples, fixes against bad iptables rules, x doesnt work on ipv6, router crashes, the interface displays incorrectly, etc. I started using merlin's firmware because I...

In .43 and below, you can change to the appropriate wireless region and adjust transmit power accordingly. In .44 Asus region locks the device to the region it was designed to be sold in. ie. If it was meant for North America, you get North American channels even if you're in Europe, and vice...
