    Asus ROG GTAC-RT-5300 Merlin firmware on a AUS RT-AC 5300 ?

I have an asus rt-ac5300. It has phenomenal range....it now covers my parents 4br home (.2 stories and a basement, and a 3 car garage with a bonus room above it. Before I got it, I had a 66 and an 87 when those where the flagship models. The 5300 range is worlds better than either of those...

    iPhone 11 connect issues

I have had this same issue on an AC5300. actually, the connection usually works on 2.4ghz with private on, but struggles on AC1, doesn’t work on AC2... and that’s with me trying 5 different model iPads and 4 iPhones. As suggested, changing private off mode off seems to fix it, but I suggest...

Killer wi-fi only sees one 5GHz SSID

Definitely looks like your Wi-Fi Card in your computer needs to be updated to the US version of the FW. The US allows for using more Wi-Fi power. Wider Chanel’s than most countries. I have an AC5300 at one house. I use two 80mhz wide channels....one low and one high. I also use another router...

Unable to enable 2.4ghz WiFi on AC5300

Hey while back, I used the ASUS Router app to disable true 2.4 ghz WiFi to test for interference with wireless controllers on my Xbox one. Ever since, I am on able to get it turned back on and working. I have tried updating firmware & a factory reseet...then waiting 10 minutes before...

rt-ax88u net disconnect but not wan

What version Firmware are you on? I have had a similar issue, but with Xfinity. My modem lights wouldn’t indicate an issue, but internet would definitely be down. Simply resetting my modem wouldn’t fix it....even with the reset button that level 2 Xfinity techs have sworn is the same thing as...

Connection Drops: Lease does not renew (Manual reset required)

I have a ac5300 that had been getting since I updated firmware around January. Using sb8200 modem with Xfinity. Just want to note that it still happens with a factory reset & updated fw, so it’s not related to add ons. I also had so many issues with the 384.9 firmware that I went back to...

Recommendation for a router to deal with bufferbloat (ac88u and ax88u)

AX88 has quad core processor & Merlin....which allows for FQ_CODEL should be faster for VPN, encryption, QOS, etc. Might get you an A+ instead of an A on DSLREPORTS a little easier.' I've found that quad core devices don't require as much tinkering to get a great blufferboat as dual core...

Your ISP's DHCP does not function correctly

Of note, my modem lights have always stayed solid when I’ve encountered this issue. Looks like solid connection. Only way to fix is call and have them send a reset signal. I recently started getting these on my ac5300. Power cycling my modem wouldn’t fix it—actually had to call & have the isp...

    Linksys Velop Roaming Garbage

I bought an ASUS Rt-AC5300 about a year ago. I was upgrading from an older ASUS flagship device—the AC87u. I know the only difference is supposed to be having dual 5ghz 8 antenna WiFi, but the WiFi on it is incredible. I have it in a basement & still get a usable 100mb in places two stories...

    Game boost - Xbox One?

If you’re wanting to play while people are watching Netflix, the big issue is Blufferboat—basically, the more thuroughput you are using, the more your ping goes up. www.dslreports.com/Speedtest That Speed test will show you how much latency is actually add it when you are using your entire...

QoS Settings for XBox One X on RT-AC88U

Game download speeds can also be limited by their hard drives speed, & even more when a game or app is open. Going back to the home screen isn’t enough, make sure to fully quit a game. Adding a USB 3.0 SOlid State Drive (250+ GB) would also help with download speed & game load times.

    MoCA 2.0 Bonded reality check

If you are running 2 moca networks, enabling encryption on the 2.0 will stop 1.0 & 1.1 device’s from connecting. Your issue sounds like it is a signal strength issue. I would try the following -splitter, moca filters, 75 ohm terminating caps, & isolation I had the same problem with my action...

    MoCA 2.0 Bonded reality check

I see your X1 was downgrading your moca setup Looks like you found the best solution, but just as a note... It is possible to have two separate moca setups...one 1.1 and a 2.0 on the same cable on different frequencies so long as your splitter lets through high enough frequencies so they don't...

Advice please: RT-AC5300 improvements over RT-AC3200

I Definitely agree with bandit8623 Add an access point If it's possible, run an ethernet backhaul. If running an Ethernet backhaul isn't practical, Here are some other options: -moca 2.0 or bonded moca 2.0 -wireless backhaul-use tri-band access points/mesh AP's. Use one of the 3 bands on...
