    Site-to-Site Tunnel with OpenVPN

I finally got it working, there was some old configuration rules from when I attempted to setup an IPsec VPN tunnel on the pfSense server which was causing the problem (I couldn't use IPsec tunneling with Strongswan because Merlin pulled the ipsec.ko modules from the RT-AC68R firmware a few...

    Site-to-Site Tunnel with OpenVPN

Yeah, it's set to automatic. But I still get the feeling it's not building the right firewall rules.

    Site-to-Site Tunnel with OpenVPN

I have the routes on the routers setup, but still nothing gets across. Something is telling me it's a firewall/iptables rule in the way that's causing all the trouble but I can't seem to figure it out.

    Site-to-Site Tunnel with OpenVPN

Unfortunately not. I was able to make things work from 192.168.1.0 to 10.0.0.0 only (still can't 10.0.0.0 to 192.168.1.0) by setting the OpenVPN client configuration on the AC68R to create a NAT on the tunnel. However, the only side effect is that is that as far as my 10.0.0.0 clients...

    Site-to-Site Tunnel with OpenVPN

I'm attempting to setup a Site-to-Site VPN tunnel with OpenVPN using my RT-AC68R on the client side and a pfSense machine on the other. I've been able to successfully establish a VPN link between the two routers and I'm able to ping the other networks via each router. I'm unable to get any of...

    Time Machine and IPv6

Does anyone else have any issues using Time Machine and IPv6 enabled? I completely reset my router and did the basic configuration of the WAN, enabled TM and it was seen by my OS X machines. As soon as I enable IPv6, the TM share disappears from the Finder Browser and my machines are no...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.48 Beta 2 is out

RMerlin, I can confirm I'm seeing the same behavior in beta1 (haven't tried beta2 as I reverted back to .47). I have a 4tb GPT formatted disk attached to the system via USB3 for sharing.

    Samba Shares and Time Machine

Is there a way to hide samba shares, or at least prevent the firmware from auto-building a share for my Time Machine sparsebundles? Every time I reboot, it creates SMB shares for the time machine directories on my drive, I'd like to hide those if possible so they don't show up when browsing.

    Router Login Name Length

Depends really.... libc6 has a 32 character max, however, usually it's not a good idea to exceed 16 characters for a username in linux, just to avoid compatibility problems with older applications. Some very old applications still stick to the original limit of 8 chars for the username.

    IPv6 and dnsmasq

The router does have an IPv6 address because it's still the gateway/router for routing IPv6 traffic. It looks like radvd is handling out the IP addresses to the IPv6 client, but giving it the DNS servers for the Comcast IPv6 DNS servers. I'm thinking I can disable radvd and use dnsmasq to...

    IPv6 and dnsmasq

Is there a way to configure DNSMasq to handle all IPv6 lookups? I have IPv6 enabled on the local network (Comcast supports the WAN side) and clients are pulling a IPv6 address. However, they are getting 192.168.1.1 for the IPv4 DNS server and the two external Comcast DNS servers for IPv6...
