    DNS Issue?? AX5800 Pro Issue??

I've got a weird DNS issue with my Samsung Galaxy S24+ phone. I realize this is on the one hand probably not the best forum for this, but after spending several days trouble shooting this problem - it seems specific to my AX5700 Pro router with Merline 3004.388.8_2. Let me summarize as...

Access Router Admin from Chrome Flex OS

Have a older PC which I converted from Windows to Chrome OS Flex. Generally everything works fine. But when I try to access router: http://192.168.1.1; Chrome will not connect. Error returned is 192.168.1.1 refused to connect. I can still access without issue from my PC and my MAC. Any ideas?

DNS Assignment - very strange things

ok - think I figured this out. Sometime, beyond my limited memory capacity :), I must have set the DNS server entry in the MAC to 1.1.1.1. And proceded to forget about this. This setting apparently overrides any router based settings. I'm generally more of a Windows guy, and default setting...

DNS Assignment - very strange things

Have ASUS RT-AX86U Pro running Merlin 3004.388.8_2 I am trying to test out various adblocking DNS services. I went to WAN DNS services and from the Assign button, tried different sets of servers, including vanilla ones like Google. Always click apply to complete task. After each and every...

Any good reason not to try this

I have a wired connection from primary to secondary. Prior to my AI setup, I had the 2ndary set up a wired AP.

Any good reason not to try this

Yeah, I had similar thoughts, but thought maybe it would be worth a try. Thanks.

Any good reason not to try this

Currently have two ASUS routers - AX88U Pro and AC88U. They are configured with Merlin as AI Mesh with the AX88U as primary. Primary servers the front of the house. The AC88U serves the back of the house and that's where the media devices - all of which are in close proxity to the AC88U and my...

GL.iNet worth a try? Any advantage over ASUS?

I recently got a gl.inet router as a travel router. It is a low end device - the Opal SFT1200 ($39 at Amazon). Yes it is OpenWRT which can be technically rich but challenging, but they have their own front end to it that is relatively easy and straight forward. Very easy to setup Wireguard...

setup ac68U as bridge to eero network for vpn support

I'm surprised that Netflix took so long to crack down on me. But then curiously, at least as of today, while they block my app on the TV, I can set do Netflix on the web.

setup ac68U as bridge to eero network for vpn support

Had a feeling we were moving in this direction. Before I knew details of her system - seemed relatively straight forward. Now it's turning into a science project. My ISP does not support IPv6, which I was (am) fine with. Great service over fiber. Just thought it would be "easy" to get VPN on...

setup ac68U as bridge to eero network for vpn support

Ok - so here's the use case for what I am (will be) trying to accomplish. My daughter and I have shared passwords for some streaming services. She has Netflix. It was actually only this past week that my access to her Netflix was turned off. So, the thought was, to setup an OpenVPN service on...

setup ac68U as bridge to eero network for vpn support

So just found out something interesting. My daughters setup is consists of a T-Mobile Home Internet (TMHI) gateway front ending her Eero network. TMHI's use CG-NAT (this cannot be disabled) so I guess my question is in part how is this Eero network (which uses NAT) working at all for her? In...

setup ac68U as bridge to eero network for vpn support

Ok - so I am guessing her Eero LAN is on subnet 192.168.1.x. I would setup the Asus to broadcast on 192.168.50.x as a regular router. I'm with you so far. Then I connect via cable from her LAN port to the ASUS WAN port. So, now the ASUS is on network with a base network address of (let's...

setup ac68U as bridge to eero network for vpn support

My daughter has a network using Eero mesh router system. For a variety of reasons, I would like to be able to vpn into her system for remote access as well use it as vpn node to the internet. Eero does not support being configured as a vpn. I have an unused AC68U that I can bring to her home...

    AiMesh Node fails to install

Well, I tried it one more time. This time, left ac86u (aimesh node) in back room of house with connection from LAN node on main router to WAN node on mesh node. Reset the ac86u and then added mesh node. This time it was successful. Then curiously, as I check some critical devices that should...

    AiMesh Node fails to install

    AiMesh Node fails to install

Would it help if I coonrcted the node to the main router via a wire? If so, connect it to lan or wan port?

    AiMesh Node fails to install

Got no inherent problem leaving it as AP. Have same SSIDs setup on both. Concern is, phone in rear of the house takes a call (on wifi calling), and while on the call walks to the front of the house. All might go well, but 2 other possibilities are phone might stubbornly stick to original router...
