USB drive perms/access missing after 374.41 install

That's similiar to my config as well. On the last router reboot, the first drive, thats been stable so far, was remounted as sdc1, where it had been sda1....broke dlna and samba mappings and perma,. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

USB drive perms/access missing after 374.41 install

Update yet again: I plugged in the 3TB drive into the USB3 port, ssh'd into the router and checked that it was mounted , which it was. I then ejected the drive through the router GUI and confirmed via ssh it was unmounted. So I then did an e2fsck on the drive and it showed a partition problem...

USB drive perms/access missing after 374.41 install

Update time. I connected the Synology NAS to the rt-ac68u, connected the 3TB ext3 USB drive to the NAS, and then copied over the files to the NAS. I then reformatted the 3TB drive to ext4, with the NAS, unmounted it from the NAS and plugged it into the USB 3 poet of the router. And the same...

USB drive perms/access missing after 374.41 install

Well, I had a change of heart and plans. Rather than go through the trial and error of getting the drives working, I bought a Synology NAS. I'll just plug it into a port on the router and call it good. Thanks again for everyone's assist! I do appreciate it. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

USB drive perms/access missing after 374.41 install

The Linux that is running on the router appears to be a very paired down version. Wonder if that's the issue...?? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

USB drive perms/access missing after 374.41 install

Very interesting, GoNzo says he is using ext4 without any issues.... I'll partition / format on Linux then see if will mount before I toss data on it. Thanks for the heads-up. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

USB drive perms/access missing after 374.41 install

Tonight will be experiment night. I plan to pull the drive from the router, attach to a Linux box and format to ext4 and then move about 1/2 TB of data back onto it. I wonder if it makes a difference on how the content gets loaded: via Linux or the router...?? In any case, I'll post my results...

USB drive perms/access missing after 374.41 install

Interesting. I have just the opposite issue; Samba works but not the router GUI. Looks like I may need to do a similar course... reformat the drive (though into EXT4) and then move content back onto it. Thanks for sharing your experience. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

USB drive perms/access missing after 374.41 install

I can do that fine via Samba / Windows but not through the router GUI. No matter what changes I make to the drive, via Samba, I can do nothing with it in the GUI. There is something in this release that has this buggered up... Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

USB drive perms/access missing after 374.41 install

I did a factory reset, and did not reload the previous settings, and the issue with the USB3 external drive, in EXT3 format, remains. DLNA server can see/use it, but not Samba. UPDATE: I can now get to the folders (and make changes) via UNC, from a Windows system but cannot add/change/ perms...

USB drive perms/access missing after 374.41 install

Thanks much. Looks like this will be a memory test, especially on DHCP. I'm skeptical its settings related as it worked fine before the firmware upgrade. Going to give it a try though. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

USB drive perms/access missing after 374.41 install

The hard drive attached is not a flash drive but rather a Seagate 3TB USB3 external. As such it won't have the wear/leveling issues. From the docs I found, using the EXT3 format was supported with the firmware, and it was working fine prior to the firmware update.

USB drive perms/access missing after 374.41 install

Thanks. Does doing a factory reset remove the ASUSWRT firmware, and restore to stock firmware? Will I lose all of the configurations I've made? If so, can I reload using the saved settings?

USB drive perms/access missing after 374.41 install

I just moved from the stock Asus firmware to the 374.41 firmware on my Asus RT-AC68U and, when I went into the Samba tab, I discovered that: that the mount point was changed from SDC1 to SDB1. While the folders were listed, the perms were a single line across all perms (See attached...
