Google/Chromecast connection weirdness after a day of uptime

I’m having a weird issue that’s getting tough to narrow down. Every so often I’m unable to cast to my Chromecasts, and it seems like google-based services slow down or stall. Rebooting my ac-5300 seems to resolve it, but it happens about once a day sometimes. I’m running 380.69, but I recall...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.66 is now available

Aha...could be. I'll upgrade and disable this "feature" to see if it resolves my issues.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.66 is now available

I think this 380.66 might be the cause for my chromecast audios going haywire. They appear and disappear randomly. I just downgraded to 380.65_4 and everything seems normal again.

    IPv6 Not working AC5300

I just built 380.65 beta 1 locally and my RT-5300 immediately got an IPv6 address after installing.

alpha 3 does not fix this issue for me (not sure if it was supposed to, but it sounded like BMWDude got an IPv6 address with it?

    IPv6 Not working AC5300

    Doesn't seem to help. Dec 2 21:07:15 rc_service: service 29224:notify_rc restart_dhcp6c Dec 2 21:07:16 odhcp6c[29227]: (re)starting transaction on eth0 Dec 2 21:07:17 odhcp6c[29227]: Starting SOLICIT transaction (timeout 4294967295s, max rc 0)

    IPv6 Not working AC5300

Are you saying that cloning the mac address to the one from your AC68U is allowing it to get an IPv6 address?

    IPv6 Not working AC5300

Here's the log on startup. I only see the start of a dhcp6 transaction, but nothing else. I'm on comcast and used to get IPv6 but I don't now. I've also swapped out my SB6183 with a Netgear CM600 modem and that did not fix the issue. I'm pretty certain it's the AC5300. Note: I x'd out the...

Sorry, I meant no references to IPv6 in my syslog. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    IPv6 Not working AC5300

I just did this on my AC5300, but it didn't seem to put anything into the syslog.log after reboot.

Losing route to host on local network

I'm still experiencing issues with my computers often losing local name resolution after a day or so. Only rebooting the router will fix it. Did you ever find a fix?

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

These seemed to work for a little while, however I'm not back in a state where local name resolution doesn't work and I need to reboot the router to get it to come back.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I can give your suggestions a shot, but this is a problem I've seen come and go with the ASUS bases firmware. I'm using an AC68, and out of the blue resolving the local name of my NAS (it's running avahi) will stop working. Rebooting the NAS doesn't fix it. Rebooting the router does.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Funny...update -03 brought with it local name resolution issues (a while after the router has been up). Flashing back to -02 resolved those issues.

374.41 on AC68U and LAN Name Resolution problems

I have an unraid NAS connected to my AC68U that advertises itself with avahi and SMB as 'tower'. After a day or two with the new firmware, it seems I'm unable to resolve its local name and instead have to use the IP. If I reboot the AC68U, the name resolves just fine for another few days. Has...
