    2.4GHz turboQAM backhauling ?

long story short I want to upgrade my home office link (only wifi possible - no powerline) currently getting up to 90mbps from a 150mbps 2.4GHz link (20MHz channel). I was thinking buying 2x TurboQAM cheap SH routers like rt-ac66u_b1 Do I have any chance of getting a 200mbps+ throughput ?

    Tweaking router for VPN

I don't own a rt-ac68u (only a rt-n66u supported only in the john's fork) so can't take screenshots (that should replace like 1000 words). The best advice here is to ask your VPN provider support for this option (chacha20-poly1305 cipher) and open a separate thread and I'm sure this community...

just make sure your VPN provider allows you to set manual cipher Chacha20-Poly1305 - speeds should improve up to 3x

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 45EC

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 45EC

thank you @john9527 for another release for our aging hardware. My rt-n66u (mips) was retired to a WAP role - an increasingly important one now with the remote work. yesterday I've tried to upgrade to 45EA release but it got software bricked. I'm trying to recover it via webCFE flash - but it's...

AC66U slow with 6in4 - advise on new router

it now depends on your budget - if it can can handle the rt-ax86u - go for that if you just want the best cpu (and you'll want that for software nat) go for rt-ac86u if you just want wifi6 (aka 802.11AX) go for rt-ax56u - cheapest I don't think any of those can handle 1gbps with software nat...

@ekze you should ask this question on its own thread on asuswrt forum

    [MIPS] Entware-backports Repo (entware-ng reloaded)

yes, it seems that dd-wrt (although I don't particularly like the way it's development is done) is the only viable solution right now for a maintained firmware with a more recent kernel. my rt-n66u is retired to a WAP role and can live with john's firmware for the remainder of it's days (or...
