    Release ASUS RT-N66U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.382_52745 (2025/03/26)

Wow, I take this is an example of how long Asus supports their popular routers. I'm really impressed, been a few years (~13 years) since this one was released. Glad to be using Asus routers.

    Release ASUS GT-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_34825 (2025/03/18)

Flash with no factory reset here, everything working great. Love it when an update just works *smile*.

RT-BE92U and Nvidia Shield Pro 2019

I've read about some problems that the NVIDIA Shield Pro has connecting using WPA3. Remember that if your MLO includes the 6GHz. band, your router will force all clients of that MLO network to use WPA3 on all bands in the MLO network. This is most likely one of the reasons for Asus to provide a...

RT-BE96U - MLO vs network with “WiFi7 mode” with “MLO Fronthaul for Clients”

Yes, the bands that you want to use in the same MLO group have to use the same SSID. I was using a main network with just the 5GHz. and 6GHz. bands with MLO enabled and turned on just for the two bands. I'm not totally happy with the way that Asus is doing this now, that you indicate that you...

    RT-BE92U A Mac address I'm Concerned...

When I looked up that MAC address, I found that it belongs to "Tuya Smart Inc". I have an IoT device that has that network interface in it, it's an electric. blanket with a wifi interface, very nice *smile*. But this interface could be in any number of IoT devices. So if you can't match it with...

RT-BE92U and Nvidia Shield Pro 2019

I need to have the router that the Silicon Dust HDhomerun uses (media bridge) on the IoT network here. Along with another dedicated router. Plenty of speed on 2.4GHz. for those clients, and I don't have to turn off wifi-7 on my main network. The Apple TV's are fine on the main network.

    Release ASUS RT-BE96U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_37812 (2025/02/20)

Got about a day on this firmware now. Doing fine, stable. This is my main router, MLO is enabled and turned on for my main network. Happy with it so far. Update 3/6: Up about 2 weeks now, been nice and stable. Good build.

RT-BE96U - MLO vs network with “WiFi7 mode” with “MLO Fronthaul for Clients”

That's how I have my RT-BE96U configured. Only 5GHz. and 6GHz. bands in my main network, with MLO enabled there. To enable MLO, enable first in the Wireless tab, then in the Network tab as you mention. Both places need to be enabled. When I had all three bands in my main network, and enabled MLO...

    Release ASUS RT-BE96U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_37038 (2024/12/03)

Finally got my wifi-7/MLO network stabilized. I now have only 5GHz. and 6GHz. bands on my main network, and 2.4GHz only on the IoT wifi-6 network. I do have WPA2/WPA3 for my main (wifi-7/MLO) network, but as usual I'm sure that 6GHz. is using only WPA3. The Network page shows wifi-7 and MLO for...

    Release ASUS RT-BE96U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_37024 (10/23/2024)

From my experience with this, the MLO in the Wireless tab enables MLO to be turned on, sort of a master enable. This doesn't enable MLO on any network, just allows you to do that. Then once you've enabled MLO in the Wireless tab, you can then turn on MLO for your main network (or elsewhere) in...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.3 beta is now available for Wifi 7 devices

Downloaded the image and checksummed it. Then flashed it from the desktop on my cable-connected desktop computer. So that would be "over a wire".

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.3 beta is now available for Wifi 7 devices

Flashed this several days ago, and it's doing great. MLO is working well, clients that support 6GHz. are put there if appropriate. Wireless is strong and reliable. No problems at this point, very happy with this firmware. A few odd messages in the system log, but they're apparently debugging...

Asus XT8 optimal Wi-Fi settings for stability, compatibility, and performance

If you're in the US and using wireless backhaul, you can use the 5GHz-2 radio channels that are above the old ones for the wireless backhaul (UNII-4 channels 169 - 181). This allows 160MHz. backhaul bandwidth without using the DFS channels. You can read about this elsewhere on this forum by...

    Release ASUS RT-BE96U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_37038 (2024/12/03)

I tried reverting to 37031, but after about a day Asus decided that they wanted me on 37038 even though I had auto-upgrade turned off. Thinking about the Netgear RS700S since Netgear actually respects the user turning off auto-upgrade. The only problem with the RS700S is that MLO isn't...

RT-BE86U - how to disable Smart connect?

Had a similar problem...we were getting disconnects using MLO main network, so I wanted to go back to separate wifi-6 networks. Tried to do that using the "Network" tab after turning off MLO. I couldn't get it to work, I could deselect the 2.4GHz. and 6GHz. bands from my "smart connect" main...

    Release ASUS RT-BE96U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_37038 (2024/12/03)

Using this firmware for a few days now, working well here. No obvious behavioral changes, the preceding firmware version also worked well for me. Not using AiMesh, though, I hear that there have been some problems with that in previous versions.

    ASUS RT-BE92U

If you're interested in TP-Link, they have several wifi-7 routers, at least one of which has a couple of 10Gb ports. Worth a look.

    Release ASUS RT-BE96U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_37031 (2024/11/07)

Not using the 10G ports on mine, but did you factory reset and manually reconfigure it after flashing? Not sure that this particular thing can be corrected by a reset, but a factory reset has fixed a myriad of problems for me over the years. Especially if the new firmware has a lot of changes...

    Release ASUS RT-BE96U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_37024 (10/23/2024)

If you used the "MLO fronthaul for clients" setting to get MLO on your main network, this one is interesting. I tried that once as well, and it sets your main network up as a fronthaul for a mesh, not as a general use MLO network. For example, you'll have no SSID to connect to, since that's how...

    Release ASUS RT-BE96U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_37031 (2024/11/07)

Doing well here also. No problems, just great wireless. There are some alarming messages in the system log, though, but I've decided that since there are no disconnects or spontaneous reboots, that those messages aren't significant. Asus could do better, though...these particular messages...
