RT-AC86U_386.5_2 to RT-AC86U_386.7_2 introduced WiFi issues?

I recently updated from RT-AC86U_386.5_2 to RT-AC86U_386.7_2 ... did it introduce WiFi issues? I have had several devices have connectivity issues since the day I ran the update after nearly 6 months of zero issues on 386.5_2. The devices happen to be the furthest devices from the router but...

    AC86U stopped working overnight

my guess is because i had just moved the modem and router from a different location/account, it may have had an IP under the old account and when their systems refreshed or performed a sweep overnight, it caused some issues. by forcing the MAC change, I got a new IP, and then some how when I...

    AC86U stopped working overnight

I moved from one house to another, 5 minutes apart. I canceled service at the old address, registered the modem at the new address. The modem works directly connected to my computer and works with a different Asus router running Merlin. Oddly the AC86U stopped working at 4AM this morning after...

    AC86U stopped working overnight

Have a AC86U running latest release build of Merlin that stopped working overnight. Moved down the street, put it in my car, called the cable company with MAC, everything worked yesterday afternoon and evening. Woke up and no traffic is passing between the modem and router. Router appears fine...

Merlin, dnsmasq, Pi-hole Accurate Device Names How-To?

What are the reasons to use DOT, dns filter, conditional forwarding, etc? I let my Asus/Merlin act has DHCP, on the settings I put my pi-holes IP for the DNS, no other DNS. My clients all get the pi-hole's IP showing in ipconfig/all from the DHCP from Asus/Merlin. The issue that I have had is...

Powering Asus 68u via DC not AC and barrel plug size

One year later, I finally implemented. I got an Uxcell 12v to 19v converter on Amazon along with the barrel adapter listed above and https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081Z8WRK5/?tag=snbforums-20 I am also using a Y 2x USB to 1x micro USB in the USB ports of the AC68u that is powering a...

    RT-AC68U / RT-AC68P / RT-AC1900 / RT-AC1900P

There are probably many more serious vulnerabilities. Read the text. There are prerequisites such as someone having access to the router/it being on an insecure network. Dont put it on an insecure network, dont leave the admin interface open to the internet, and dont let anyone else log in to it.

    RT-AC68U / RT-AC68P / RT-AC1900 / RT-AC1900P

    RT-AC68U / RT-AC68P / RT-AC1900 / RT-AC1900P

The reason I wanted the Pi to run off the 68U's USB was because I want to convert everything to DC power, as easily as possible. Had a thread: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/powering-asus-68u-via-dc-not-ac-and-barrel-plug-size.57730/ So will couple that with a 12v to 19v and splice into my...

https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/faqs/#pi-power I just need something that can run Pi-hole... Any suggestions which model I should get? I think I only need ethernet as the only peripheral Now this is a crazy idea but I've seen some external DVD burners/HDs use two USB plugs to get...

Powering Asus 68u via DC not AC and barrel plug size

awesome find on amazon! i was looking for a couple hours last night and found maybe one option on ebay that would take 1-2 months to arrive. i was debating just cutting the ac adapter lead and using that but thank you for finding an alternatve! as for watts, input says 19v / 1.75amps so as long...

Powering Asus 68u via DC not AC and barrel plug size

I am looking to power an Asus 68u via DC and not AC power. I plan to use a step up transformer to go from 12V DC to 19V DC. The problem is now figuring out how to go from that to the router. I am trying to find the correct barrel plug size and where I might obtain? I have read in some places...
