    Solved High nvram usage

Does anyone know what is the "nc_setting_conf"? What is the Notify Center?

Asus RT-AC68U 386.2_6 low on free nvram

I am wondering what is that "nc_settings_conf" anyway? It is the largest consumer of my NVRAM. I did check the code https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng/blob/master/release/src/router/rc/services.c but can't understand what notify center this code is about. Anyone can shed more light on...

Solved Updating to 386.9 broke DDNS and port forwarding. AC68U

Noticed that NVRAM was -619 bytes free. Cleaned it up and all of the sudden all settings become saveable.

Solved Updating to 386.9 broke DDNS and port forwarding. AC68U

Do you think ports forwarding also related to IPv6?

Solved Updating to 386.9 broke DDNS and port forwarding. AC68U

After I have recently updated my AC-68U to 386.9 (from 386.7-ish) I noticed that DDNS provider setting are reset to ASUS.COM and all port forwarding records are gone. Trying to add port forwarding records does nothing — newly added disappear once I refresh the page. And DDNS provider settings...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta is now available

Running AC68U on 386.beta1 (shall we expect 386DX soon? ;)) I just recently noticed that even though I've uploaded my SSL certificates as the chain (starting with my domain, then intermediate and finally root), it looks like the router doesn't respect this and always replies with the domain...

I am using PL-2303 HXD cable and I suspect according module is missing from the standard firmware set :\

Can't make apcupsd to see UPS via USB-to-serial cable

Hello, I am trying to make my APC 1000INET work with the AC68U directly via the genuine DB9-to-USB cable. It works perfectly fine with apcupsd on a Linux box but doesn't on the router. Once device is connected, here is what I see in the system log /tmp/syslog.log … Dec 7 17:28:14 kernel...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta is now available

AC68U from 384.19, everything seems to be working fine except the webgui, it is just loading endlessly and then fails. UPD Restarted router several times and webgui worked.

    Revoked Let's Encrypt

Hi, Did anyone experienced the problem when Let's Encrypt certificate was revoked almost two month before its expiration date? I didn't make any major changes in the router configuration, maybe only closed the WAN GUI access but I do not expect this to cause SSL cert revocation… or should I?

List of legitimate processes on router

My point is if the vulnerability was fixed, why it is still recommended to disable web UI ‍♂️

List of legitimate processes on router

Too bad. I did hope that ASUS will at least admit the presence such bug and issue recommendations. Instead, it looks like they prefer to keep it under the carpet :( AndI didn't mean you at all, but I didn't find anything about this on either ASUS website or CVE details.\ UPD: or maybe this is...

List of legitimate processes on router

Any other clues or keywords, or they didn’t disclose details? I want to understand whether the password was brute forced or there is a vulnerability which was exploited. Cuz in case of latter if there is no patch the only is to disable web UI

List of legitimate processes on router

Is this known vulnerability fixed in recent version or it isn't fixed and there are mitigation steps?

List of legitimate processes on router

It was a two-step loader to load ARM-compatible ELF (I have a copy if you need, yet it is "all green" on visurtotal.com) loaded from somewhere in Thailand. I would assume myself an experienced sysadmin and so far seen such malware side-loaded through web UI vulnerabilities, eg. last year there...

List of legitimate processes on router

On a side note, is it possible to set a permission on /tmp which will prevent running binaries from it?

List of legitimate processes on router

I recently noticed a binary running from /tmp and found out that the router has hacked. It is sort of self-installing trojan or something, whatever. I was able to track it down and cleanup its loader from /jffs However, during the discovery I realized that it there is a lot of processes which...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Can someone advise how to troubleshoot Let's Encrypt certificate generation/update? Since 384.13 it does not work and sits on "Status :Updating..." all the time. I can do get it manually and install, but… it used to work automatically and I would really love to get this functionality back.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Folks, I'm trying to find out the service name for mdnla server and figured out that can't find its service name. Any suggestions? A wider question — is there a way to find out all services names?
