    Found the issue - the ASUS PCE-N15 wifi card does not like the "802.11ax / Wi-Fi 6 mode" option enabled for the 2.4ghz wifi on the router.     Sorry I should have provided more info - yep tried different channels, and Wireless Mode changed from Auto > b/g, no difference. Stumped as to why it suddenly happened.

    Dirty upgraded an AX56U which has been running for ~40 days straight from 386.2_4 > 6. Looking forward to exceeding the previous runtime.

    CakeQOS CakeQOS-Merlin

    Just tried this, and yes it works quite well! I still get A's for Bufferbloat like Cake, and it's not "3rd party" per say. Will monitor over the next few days. EDIT : I'll take that back about 3rd-party, as ASUS QoS uses TM. Maybe I'll use Cake after all.

    I use rubber bands. Easy to remove and clean. 3M scotch tape is more elegant though (and probably looks nicer). The fan I ripped out of a laptop cooler, 3 small fans with speed control all through a single USB jack.

    In crontab e.g. 04 00 * * * service restart_httpd would restart the httpd service at 4am daily. Where do you set this? Checking an older post says it's no longer available?

    I concur - previously rocked a 68u. At stock, OVPN speeds were a paltry ~35mbps. Overclocked to 1.4ghz and it jumped to ~50mbps, and CPU utilisation was rather high when downloading Linux ISO's (yes, that's what we use a VPN for). On my 86u OVPN at stock settings you get ~200mbps.

    A reset happened to me as posted here. In my case I hard-rebooted the router and when it came back up boom, all gone. Whilst I love the h/w on the 86u it's definitely one of the most unstable ASUS routers I've had (previously on a rock solid 68u). Other than that, the WebUI occasionally dies...

    Is the tx power for both bands at maximum? Can't remember if ASUS stock allows adjustment, but Merlin certainly does.

    Latest update - no recurrence of WebUI hanging since previously reported. Uptime now nearly 7 days. Mem usage hovering at ~87%. Looks like it's settled down. Will continue monitoring.
