    I don't understand this error

Thank you once again! I will leave QoS disabled for now. Everything works perfectly fine at the moment! I'm a happy camper again :) Have a wonderful and productive rest of the day guys! Cheers!

    I don't understand this error

Great to know about MTU. Yes, cables do go bad from time to time, and this one I loved it because it's flat, classified as CAT 6. Maybe my wife did something when vacuuming, who knows. Anyway, now I'm on the original one from the Asus box, CAT 5e (that should be fine, correct?). My YouTube...

    I don't understand this error

Just one more question... is there anything specific I'd have to do with WAN MTU? Right now it's sitting at 1500.

    I don't understand this error

Oh my, oh my!!! When someone knows their stuff, they know their stuff! You guys are all amazing! I replaced the cable, even though the other one was CAT6, one of those flat profile cables. I simply replaced it with the one that came with AX86U inside the box, and I believe that one is CAT5e. WAN...

    I don't understand this error

Oh, I don't have EdgeRouter anymore. That was last year when I was on Virgin Mobile Fibre in Ontario. Now I live in Southern Alberta and I am with Shaw cable internet. Box they provided me with is HITRON CGNM-2250, and it's put into bridge mode just so I can connect my Asus RT-AX86U. I use that...

    I don't understand this error

Thank you so much for spending your precious time trying to help Colin, greatly appreciated! It actually dropped from 177 Mbps to around 90 Mbps. It indeed looks like WAN's link is 100 Mbps  This is the screenshot from that page:

    I don't understand this error

Thank you so much! I actually just did this couple of minutes ago, and this is what I saw in my router's System Log file regarding the eth7:

    I don't understand this error

Thank you guys, thanks to everybody in this thread. Yes, as I mentioned I am not as proficient as any of you are, understand the basics, but this is really way above my knowledge. Anyway, funny thing is... after I disabled 160MHz at Tech Junky's recommendation, I have not seen that error since...

    I don't understand this error

Thank you so much for your kind reply, greatly appreciated! Router is exactly at the center of our house, and it's one level detached house, all users are on that same floor. It's one of those bi-levels houses, new development (completed two months ago). Sorry for my ignorance (or stupidity)...

    I don't understand this error

Hi, you all amazing and always super helpful forum members. I truly hope this message finds you all well and in great health. I was away for quite some time now, but I am back. Got a pretty great deal on Asus RT-AX86U, so I grabbed it. Everything is pretty smooth sailing, except I've noticed...

    Question regarding AC86U

Nah, I'm not going to bother with that, especially it's a gift as I stated many times in this and another thread. I've read too many bad reviews, and it totally does not look like isolated problem. It looks like something is definitely wrong with some hardware parts inside AC86U. Not sure if...

    Question regarding AC86U

I don't have spare AC68U. In my signature it says "RIP". It died long time ago.

    Question regarding AC86U

Thank you for your respond, greatly appreciated! Yes, she won't be using AiMesh for sure, there is no need. It's actually (as I explained in another thread I started), for my niece. She plays online multiplayers, and her Ubiquiti ER-X gave its last breath. Her UAP-AC Lite is still very alive, so...

    Question regarding AC86U

Hi you all amazing snbforums members! Thank you all for unselfishly helping everybody, and investing your precious time and free will to assist whenever help is needed. I know it's not much coming from one no-body-person, but I just want you all to know there is a lot of us out there who...

Netgear xr500 your experiences with this router.

Sure, all great info right there. Thank you again! Another question... is Voxel still working on custom firmware for R7800? I never used it or even checked it closer only because I haven't used Netgear equipment in so long. The last one I owned was Netgear WPN824 v2. I've had only problems...

    Best router for my situation

Something tells me he mixed up AC68U and AC86U... he originally mentioned AC68U and that is $40 more expensive than AC66U. I don't believe AC86U can be that cheap, even now when it's on sale here in Canada, Canada Computers, $219.99 CAD @noluck4 - AC68U and AC86U are completely different...

Netgear xr500 your experiences with this router.

Thank you! Super useful information! I will check that out, seams like an amazing option, and very flexible too.

Netgear xr500 your experiences with this router.

Thank you Gar, your input is greatly appreciated! That's what I thought, and I've heard Tomato and some other work on it just fine too... I just don't know how long it will be supported. XR500 seems good on paper, but I have to admit even on sale, it's still pretty pricey for "closed" platform...

Netgear xr500 your experiences with this router.

Maybe for most recent router revisions, but as I stated earlier, the one I gave my sister is A1354, 4th Generation released back in October 20th, 2009. Quite old horse :)

Netgear xr500 your experiences with this router.

Thank you! As I mentioned in my initial post and the last one (the one before this one I'm writing right now)... I do gaming from time to time these days, but I am super fine with my ASUS RT-AC3100 and Merlin installed (since the day one I purchased that router, I've never had official ASUS...
