Latest (Oct 2024) "best" recommended router for Merlin?

Except it's missing the 6GHz band.

    amtm amtm 5.0 - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu, November 17, 2024

Thanks for the updated lc function. It works great, but I forgot to enter a minus in front of the longitude and ended up with a setting for somewhere in China 🤣: Dynamic LED control set for coordinates in 库车市 كۇچار شەھىرى, ئاقسۇ ۋىلايىتى - 阿克苏地区, 新疆维吾尔自治区 شىنجاڭ ئۇيغۇر ئاپتونوم رايونی

Difficulties maintaining 160 MHz channel bandwidth

The driver from Broadcom simply doesn't just run on 160MHz only. It will always keep 20 and 80MHz channels open as well. It's unfortunate, it would be helpful to diagnose some issues.

    [ 3006.102 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

Make sure you let Asus know that you're not pleased with the state of updates on the current WiFi 6 and 6E routers. I don't think complaining in this forum does much good.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.14 beta is now available

Do you use Cake QoS on the other router? Flow Cache is off with Cake active.

How to update to the latest version of Merlin?

Only unplug any USB drives if the update fails to install. But I usually reboot the router and wait about 10 min before updating to a new firmware to make sure there is nothing in the memory that can mess with the update.

    FlexQoS FlexQos Settings Problem

Why would the integrated Cake Qos not work on AX routers? I have a AX88U and it works excellent up to 385Mbps on a 500Mbps line from the ISP. It solved all of my latency problems.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Asuswrt-Merlin support underway for 3 Wifi 7 routers

Have you considered crowd sourcing to buy those BE routers? I wouldn't mind sending a few bucks to make sure your great add-ons are working on these routers.

Would like to see more routers with 8+ ports

The price delta between the RT-BE96U (US$682) with an additional 4 port 2.5G/10G switch (Trendnet TEG-S762 US$150) and the RT-BE88U (~$500) is about $330.

Would like to see more routers with 8+ ports

Yes, but the RT-BE96U has a measly 4 LAN ports while the RT-BE88U offers 8. It means I would also have to buy a LAN switch.
