So Long, Thanks For All The Help

That's my thought. I had ~20 minutes of new software/firmware for the console and the APs when they first powered up. All I can report is what I have here and they are cool, quiet, and troublefree. I don't have a real complex configuration but it was extremely easy to do the things I need to...

So Long, Thanks For All The Help

Surprisingly, I have had zero (!) problems with my motley mix of plugs, switches, doorbells, streaming devices, leak detectors, thermostats, TVs, weather station loggers. I don't run any cameras except doorbells.

It's why I went with the U7s instead. Working a treat for me by the way.

This is from the wall stand itself.

So Long, Thanks For All The Help

Everyone has their opinion. For me, I have a number of cheap IoT devices. All came up and have stayed up with zero changes to the default WiFi settings. My phones roam quickly and properly. I have no idea what the commenters are on about as I don't base purchases on other's 'informed' opinions...

So Long, Thanks For All The Help

On my U7 Wall APs, there is no fan nor fan control.

So Long, Thanks For All The Help

And darn well worth it. Latency is non-existent for all intents and purposes. Device do in fact roam from AP to AP in a timely manner. I'll repeat, ALL my IoT devices connected with zero issues. Ubiquiti was not good for my needs until this equipment was released. If you've discounted them in...

So Long, Thanks For All The Help

I received a new networking setup today. Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Max and 2 U7 Pro Wall APs. I also got table stands for the APs so they can be placed where I want them. First, the packaging was Apple-like. Off to a good start. Build quality and the finish was equally great. Why, they even have a...

RT-BE86U details from ASUS rep at Computex Taipei (POSSIBLE NEWS SCOOP)

I'm wanting a RT-BE92U. That seems like the AX86U replacement to me. I see nothing in the US ASUS site about it though.

AX86U Pro router and non-Pro AP

For me, I've tried it both ways and decided I like the AIMesh node best. I'm hardwired though. I don't know if you can set a static IP for the node, I just assigned a static from the router to the node's MAC. I just did a hard reset and set it up as a AIMesh node. Been working fine, devices...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_2 is now available

Working well on my router and node. Nothing special about the configuration. Port forwards for a couple of servers, IPv6 firewall entries for the same servers, dnsmasq.conf.add to help the piholes. I still see that changing a device name in the network map client list does not change it in the...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_2 is now available

When I had such 'helpful' driver partitions, I deleted he partition using GParted. Don't dink with anything else. YMMV

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8 beta is now available

2 days in, zero issues. Good to be back to a properly functioning router. Port redirects, static IP, IPv6 ports forwarded.

    GT-BE98 Pro Back It Goes

Nothing. It is in hibernation. Later today, it'll wake up.

    GT-BE98 Pro Back It Goes

So, I've had the GT-BE98 Pro for a few weeks now and it's a huge disappointment. First, the range/covered area is less than my old trusty AX86U. Of course that doesn't have the 6GHz bands, but the devices I have don't have it either with the exception of a Pixel 8 Pro. Second, MLO only ever...

Unable To Connect To Hive Heating Hub

See if WPA3 is enabled on the WiFi. Use WPA2 for IoT devices. Just had the exact issue here with my new router.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.1 Beta is now available for WIfi 7 devices

Because of this and that, I've taken the 2.4 band out of MLO (not active here anyway), smart connect, anything to do with the other bands. Also set the security to WPA2 Personal. That took care of all my IoT devices. Now everything is happy for the moment. Added the trusty AX86U as an AIMesh...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.1 Beta is now available for WIfi 7 devices

In simple terms, it looks like the behavior is to add one to the final octet when making a connection to a WiFi 7 host. I'd ask why this was thought to be good, but then I'd really be confused. Thanks to you and @dave14305
