    Two RT-AX68Us, different channel options

Because it was odd for me to have two seemingly identical routers with different channel options. I assumed I had a setting wrong somewhere I was overlooking, and was trying to understand what the cause was. I understand now that one of them, for an unknown reason, appears to be an EU unit, and...

    AX68U No DFS support?

If it's anything like the AX68, it seems the hardware is capable, but for whatever reason it hasn't been certified to use those channels in the US. At least not yet.

    Two RT-AX68Us, different channel options

No, I don't really need to. It's not necessarily an issue for ME, because both of my AX68s are operating on the channel I want them on. I just wanted to understand why, and now I know that one of them, for whatever reason, is either a euro product, or had somehow been flashed to be one, and the...

AX58U - How to setup to allow Oculus Quest 2 as only device on 5Ghz and propper settings

I don't have THAT headset (I do have the original Quest), but the device doesn't matter. If you only want to restrict the 5ghz band to one (or more) device(s), the simple solution is to set up separate SSIDs for the 2.4 & 5ghz bands.

Should I see DFS channels on a US RT-AX68U running Merlin?

Thanks for that. At least we know it's not an interface issue. :)

Should I see DFS channels on a US RT-AX68U running Merlin?

The strange thing is, my EU AX68 does have DFS channels, so the hardware is capable. Which makes me think it's an error somewhere.

Should I see DFS channels on a US RT-AX68U running Merlin?

Right, and that's my question. My US AX68 is not showing DFS channels. My US AX86 shows them, so they are allowed in the region, and my EU AX68 shows them so the hardware is capable, so I don't understand why my US AX68, which is hardware capable and region allowed isn't showing DFS channels.

Should I see DFS channels on a US RT-AX68U running Merlin?

I have two RT-AX68Us running Merlin 386.2. Somehow I ended up with one of them being a European unit. It shows the lower 5Ghz channels 36-48, plus the DFS channels 52-136 (it's missing the upper channels, since it's European). I tested channel 132, it works, so clearly the hardware is...

    Two RT-AX68Us, different channel options

I do still have the box it came in. I've been searching the numbers, and they APPEAR to be US (they match what I see on US sites, but not on UK sites). UPC is 192876737576 & EAN is 471807737579 The MAC on the box matches the MAC on my unit. So I'm thinking someone must have tried to flash...

    Two RT-AX68Us, different channel options

Thanks. I don't get any responses from @Tucu commands, but I do from @ColinTaylor's commands: wl0_country_code=E0 wl0_country_rev=704 wl1_country_code=E0 wl1_country_rev=704 EU/01 So it does look like it's a European unit. Not sure how that would have ended up for sale through Amazon...

    Two RT-AX68Us, different channel options

Yeah, no region setting in the professional tab on either of them. I'm in the US, and both were purchased at Amazon (US), however #3 was pre-ordered, I got it when they first became available here (end of January). #2 was purchased as an open box from Amazon Warehouse a couple months later. I...

    Two RT-AX68Us, different channel options

This is probably a dumb question, but where is the region set? They are both set to the same time zone (US Eastern). But I don't see a specific region setting. Is it not also odd that #3 doesn't have DFS channels? It's strange to me that they both seem to be missing some channels, but...

    Two RT-AX68Us, different channel options

I have two RT-AX68Us, both set up as access points. In the 5ghz band, One of them has the lower channels (UNI 1) available to select, plus DFS channels, but not the upper (UNI 3) range. The other one has the lower and upper ranges available, but no DFS options. I've checked all the 5ghz...

is roaming assistant parameter working on RT-AX86U 386.1_2 ?

I've not found it to work. I've tried setting it to low values, and there's never any indication that any clients are ever disconnected. I've tried on both my AX86 and AX68s.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.2 is now available

I knew you could filter by band, but until today I didn't know that was a search box that you could enter search terms into. And although I'm seeing the same issue (undefined for 5ghz, and 5ghz for 2.4ghz), I didn't know about it until today because on mine, the shade of grey of the text is so...

Increase WiFi Speed for 4k streaming

If 100mb ethernet isn't enough for @AnnieBody , I expect they may be trying to stream ripped 4k blu-rays from their local network. As @Tech9 aluded, "uncompressed" 4k doesn't really exist in the consumer world, but ripped 4k blu-ray could stress 100mb ethernet during peaks. I have no trouble...

    Beamforming / Mu-MIMO / Airtime Fairness

I have explicit beamforming and MU-MIMO enabled on the 5ghz band. The devices I have on 5ghz are all reasonably new. I haven't had any issues, though I've not done any testing to see if they help or hinder performance. I have them disabled on 2.4ghz, as well as airtime fairness & implicit...

What are the significant differences/(dis)advantages between AX88U and AX92U?

The newest high end Asus routers are already supported by Merlin: the GT-AXE11000 is the highest end, a tri-band WiFi6e router that adds 6Ghz support at a hefty premium, the RT-AX86U is a 4 stream WiFi6 router, and the RT-AX68U is a 3 stream WiFi6 router. All of these have been released within...

    ASUS RT-AX86U Wi-Fi 6 2.5G port

Yes, there's Merlin's firmware for the AX86, I'm not aware of any for the 82, but I don't have that model, so I'm not the best person to ask.

Firmware support and new router buy.

Here's one, though I'd like to be optimistic and think the hardware and firmware may have improved some since then. ;)
