question - those that have reverted back to router/ap (non aimesh) with current firmware, stable?

Thanks guys. Appreciate the replies. Ggruszynski, can you elaborate on the channel numbers? I'm not sure I follow there. I've got (1) 68U as router, (1) 68U as AP and a 66U as an AP in our loft.

question - those that have reverted back to router/ap (non aimesh) with current firmware, stable?

Question for those that have installed the latest AIMESH firmware and then for whatever reason reverted back to a traditional setup (router + AP for example). Is the current aimesh firmware stable or are there issues in that configuration as well? Just wondering if I should roll back to a...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

Well, I think for now I'm going to revert back to a traditional setup until the next release. I had more issues last week and ended up having to yank the node and reinstall an old Netgear router I had previously been using as an AP for clients in our MBR. Funny thing is, I had a heck of a time...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

Thanks hotsauce. I'm giving it another day or so. I've currently been "up" without issue for roughly 24 hours. The longest stretch yet; however, my node is showing as connected via wifi even though I have it wired via Ethernet on the WAN port. It's been like this since the last reboot just over...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

Hey hotsauce, will you please be sure to report back in a day or so on your rollback reliability with the existing firmware? I'm about ready to pull the plug on aimiesh as well. Spending too much time fiddling with this. Wife and kids are getting slightly irritated. Yesterday I came home from...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

Have you double-checked that the network cable is plugged into the WAN port on the node? I messed this up the first time around and just realized it. As soon as I fixed that and rebooted, the router picked up the node and in the UI indicated that it was connected via wired even though it was set...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

I'm a dumb dumb. I found my problem. I thought I had the right CAT5 cable behind my HT rack plugged into the WAN port on the node. I did not. I had the home run plugged into one of the LAN ports and my sonos bridge connected into the WAN port. I'm surprised it worked at all! Anyway, got that...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

Still having node disconnects. Woke up to to no node in the web UI. Node shows up as a device in the device list pool. Have it set to wired backhaul. Hope they get this fixed. Pretty frustrating.

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

Do you think there'd be any benefit to doing another NVRAM and/or complete reset on the node? I did a NVRAM reset on it once after the final cfe (correct) installation, but that was it. Hoping that switching to wired backhaul and rebooting the router this morning gives me stability. Guess we'll see.

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

Ahhh, thanks! Didn't think of that. I will try that when I get home and see if it works. Ronald, are you having issues with your node(s) dropping off? I'm just wondering if this is still happening for most folks or if there are some who have not experienced this behavior at all.

advice please - node location & what to do with 66U (non B1) after aimesh upgrade

Thanks for the reply indark. Really appreciate it. I understand there is benefit to having routers as high as possible in a house, but the only physical place I could put the second 68U upstairs would be directly above the main router. So barring flooring, insulation and drywall, the physical...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

Thanks Island, I will change it back to wired and reboot. Just found out our ISP is offering synchronous 1000Mb up/down for $10 more a month. Yeehaw! Just signed up.

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

I'm not sure I ever saw this asked/answered. Is there a consensus on what setting for the backhaul? Wired, Wireless or Auto? I'm cabled between router and node. Should I select "wired" or "auto"? Is it working correctly?

advice please - node location & what to do with 66U (non B1) after aimesh upgrade

Howdy all. Looking for some advice. Recently setup aimesh and it appears to be working well. I still have a little bit of a weak spot in the corner of our house (5G), back master bedroom on main. Haven't really done any critical analysis, just using speedtest.net to get an idea of dl/ul speed in...

    RT-AC68U Version 3.0.0.4.384.10007

I ran into the same problem, but found after some help from others here that you have to use the correct CFE file. Specifically, goggles99's CFE file. If you are using the instructions from that bayarea..xxx xxxx site, those files provided alone won't get you there. You can flash to the latest...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

Quick advice question. I have two 68U's on the way and will be setting them up to use aimesh. I currently own a 66U (non-B1). What would you guys do with it? Should I just set it up as an AP and put it upstairs in our house? Or is there a better option I'm not thinking of?

    RT-AC66U + access point + Sonos questions

Thanks, I was finally able to get the old Netgear up and running as an AP. Not sure what mistake I was making, but it's up and running. Last question. Since I'm limited at 2.4Ghz to 1, 6 or 11, what channel do you think I should set my Sonos Bridge too? Right now I'm running Netgear AP...

    RT-AC66U + access point + Sonos questions

Thanks fellas. I've been banging my head against the wall trying to bring up the old netgear as an AP. I thought I had a handle on it, read just about everything I could find on doing it and am now starting to wonder if it's on the fritz. I'm about to give up on it. I've tried resetting it to...

    RT-AC66U + Access Point + Sonos

First off, sorry this is a cross post. I accidentally posted this in the general wireless discussion section. Mods please feel free to remove it. I recently picked up a RT-AC66U for the house and have a couple questions. I have an old Netgear N300 router that I'd like to use as an access...
