New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

[Please moderators remove if off-topic] Does anyone know if the 'ROG' line of routers would offer any benefit (speed/quality of build/security...) to a non-gamer, as compared to non 'ROG' branded routers? As pace of FW upgrades (and pricing policies) are distinct, I am just curious to find out...

Adding entry to routing table for interface VLAN2

In the end I decided to go for a clean re-install and configuration of the router. As much as I find the exercise tedious, it seems to have done the trick and I have recovered full IPTV functionality. For the record, I highlight in the attached ISP router's routing table the entry that got me...

Adding entry to routing table for interface VLAN2

Thank you Colin. I will try in the morning and report.

Adding entry to routing table for interface VLAN2

No no. That is how it is called in my ISP’s router. In ASUS it translates to ‘vlan2’. Or so I infer. Yes in System Log… I wasn’t clear.

Adding entry to routing table for interface VLAN2

It is: Destination: 10.64.0.0 Subnet Mask: 255.192.0.0 Gateway: 10.64.0.1 Flag: UG Metric: 1 Service:2 [that would be the IPTV VLAN] Another one, which to me looks similar, correctly appears in the ASUS's routing table. That is: Destination: 10.64.0.0 Subnet Mask: 255.192.0.0 Gateway: 0.0.0.0...

Adding entry to routing table for interface VLAN2

I see it's been removed. Apologies all and thanks to the vigilantes.

Adding entry to routing table for interface VLAN2

Afternoon folks Up until now I had never dared manipulating the routing table, leaving the necessary changes to be handled by the relevant firmwares/users scripts. But then I came across an issue with IPTV (again). There appears to one entry in the ISP's router table that is not captured by...

    Request : IPTV ISP Profiles

That goes beyond my knowledge. That said, on the actual, physical setup, the IPTV GUI for 'Manual Settings' explicitly refers to 'LAN port 3' and 'Lan Port 4' and not VoIP / IPTV, but makes no reference to VLAN ids. Those are probably left-over settings from older times where, yes, the IPTV...

request for general ideas related to TOR

This is a very interesting debate, which goes beyond the 'technical' or 'technological' knowledge I usually seek from this Community. Underlying the question of Anonymity there is a moral issue: is it desirable or not? By whom? And importantly, to what purpose? (that takes us back to @Tech9...

    Request : IPTV ISP Profiles

Mine is Timofonica. I think I started wrong-footed by trying the 'Movistar Triple Wan' config on IPTV tab. That never worked for me, but since my historical 'Manual Settings' was also failing I tried it, and failed. Thinking ISP config had changed, I went back to Manual with the...

IPTV Issue when upgrading to 386.3_2

SOLVED I found the time to -painfully- reconfigure, one step at a time, the router. I made incremental backup points for the config, but also for the JFFS along the way, which proved to be useful fallback configs when things went pear shape. No two configs are identical, but if it can help...

    Request : IPTV ISP Profiles

Tried the attached under 386_2.2 and those settings don't work for me. What firmware are you on?

    Request : IPTV ISP Profiles

Sorry for jumping in. I am also struggling with IPTV using with Movistar Triple WAN, although I do not have a need for Multicast. With previous releases, manual settings were fine (Internet and LAN 4/3 similar to what you indicate, save for my PRIO=0). I know that does not solve your issue, but...

IPTV Issue when upgrading to 386.3_2

I will definitely try your suggestion of a lean setup of internet and IPTV, and will report back asap (not the master in my own home...) Out of ignorance, I have the feeling my issue has to do with IPTV DNS (distinct from my ISP's main DNS). That's why I am puzzled by your indicating you set...

IPTV Issue when upgrading to 386.3_2

Thanks for responding. I did not modify the deco (an old zyxel) 's settings. I have accessed those from the menu, and I can see they match the IP, gateway and dns settings shown under 'IPTV settings' in the router's menu. Which leads me to think they are properly fed by the router to the deco at...

IPTV Issue when upgrading to 386.3_2

Hello Thanks to RMerlin for the new release, the benefits of which need not be lauded further. But, as is always the case for me, with each new release come new challenges, and this time it's got to do with IPTV. Oh well... It's been a few releases now since ISP specific settings were made...

    Upgrading firmware versions

I found myself within a forest dark, For the straightforward pathway had been lost. Ah, those dreaded updates... I'm still sweating. I am none the wiser, but do remember fondly the day when @john9527 proposed a Save and Restore tool. Bless. If you want to avoid the Nuclear Option :) the nsrum...

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server) - General questions / discussion thread 2

Thank you My intentions are probably different from yours, as I would like all clients to resolve through Unbound, save for those devices specifically routed through the tunnel. I found with a prior setup that using VPN / Relaxed DNS config would result in TLS handshake errors. I assume that was...

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server) - General questions / discussion thread 2

Hello Anyone knows cases where Unbound might take precedence over VPN client DNS rules (set to Strict/Exclusive)? That is, would the Open VPN DNS rules still be enforced for relevant clients where Unbound is the default DNS resolver? Is that were the case, should specific rules be specified by...

VPN client setup - help for a newbie

Hello I too am a bit at a loss with OpenVPN at the moment and can't seem to have it working, as it used to. When you indicate: All OpenVPN clients will issue ovpn-clientX[nnnnn]: Initialization Sequence Completed Is that router/firwware specific? Asking because I can't see any such...
