Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

I'm not blaming anyone, I'm not complaining either. My issue was a crummy patch cable! I'm excited for the development here and wish everyone the best of luck!

But we're only having dropouts after upgrading firmware. My LEDs have been in place for years.

Routers as shared drives / network folders?

Jeez, I didn't even know that was a thing. I've recently had to add nodes through the web interface, usually I'd do it through the Android app. The shares have always been disabled by default before, weird not this time. Not sure why it's not a global setting either, had to change it for each...

Routers as shared drives / network folders?

Your solution to seeing empty share drives that just appeared today is to disable sharing? I have other shared drives I use daily, I'm not going to disable it. I don't know why an empty node is being shared, unless there's a setting I missed

Routers as shared drives / network folders?

But this just started today after updating, never happened before. I thought disabling something in the UI stopped this from happening in the past?

Routers as shared drives / network folders?

I just updated the firmware on my nodes to 386.7_2 and now they appear in my list of network drives or shared folders. I tried searching but I'm not sure what these are called. I think I've turned everything OFF in the USB Application tabs. This happened when I upgraded the nodes from stock fw...

Aimesh goes down daily or every few hours

I've tested with a laptop hardwired directly to the node, as well as a desktop connected through a router, then the node. Both are relatively current builds, same results each way.

Aimesh goes down daily or every few hours

OK I give up. I'll just assume that some ports perform worse than others and call it a hardware issue.

I know that. What do your suggestions mean? What do you mean 'move the node to the router'? You want me to move the node physically closer to the router? What does that have to do with port performance on the same node? What does 'If a run in the wall, move the nodes together' mean? Same as...

    What do these even mean?

Aimesh goes down daily or every few hours

I'm not even sure what you're suggesting to do, considering certain ports on a node seem to be wonky. I tested the one cable I'm using with a cable tester, which passes. Again, all my nodes are wirelessly connected to the router; it's not the placement of the node. I can move the node around the...

But this is the same cable. I literally moved it from port to port on the router, then ran a test. If the cable was bad, it would be consistently bad across all port, no?

Aimesh goes down daily or every few hours

    It seems to get progressively worse as I move from 4 to 1. I'm getting: 4 - >300 3 - 250 2 - 230 1 - 220 So I am getting 220 on port 1 at this point, a far cry from port 4. Weird!

Aimesh goes down daily or every few hours

Can I 'reopen' this discussion to ask if a particular port in a node can hinder speed or otherwise go south? One of the nodes has been connected to a local router for wired devices in one room. When I plug the router into port 1 of the node, I get speeds <100 Mbps. When I plug it into port 4 in...

Aimesh goes down daily or every few hours

I took everyone's advice and completely reset the AX68U router and speeds are back up to normal. This is from a wired connection to a node ;)

Aimesh goes down daily or every few hours

I'm not going to spend >$200 each for something that doesn't suit my needs, especially given my system was working gangbusters a month ago. I need routers placed around the house for wired devices I won't eliminate nodes for the ZenWIFI

Aimesh goes down daily or every few hours

I think I might. Previously I've been holding the reset button for a few seconds until the power light flashed and that reset the router. Is that the best technique still?

Aimesh goes down daily or every few hours

Oh thanks, but I'd already had Roaming Assist disabled. I think I might have gotten over the dropping issues by updating the router to the latest merlin and keeping the nodes at a stock fw from January. Now my biggest concern is only getting 100 Mbps through the router (where I previously got...

Aimesh goes down daily or every few hours

My nodes are RT-AC68U not RT-AC86U, should I still use the previous version firmware? 3.0.0.4.386.48262 (2022/03/25) vs the newer 3.0.0.4.386.49703 (2022/07/20) or the even older 3.0.0.4.386.46065 (2022/01/27)

Aimesh goes down daily or every few hours

But I was getting 200-300 a year ago on the same hardware, same configuration, same locations, same device(s).
