    KRACK WPA2 Vulnerability Exposed

On Linux, `wpa_supplicant` is used to perform that handshake; it's been patched already on RHEL and CentOS at least. The drivers should not be vulnerable, as far as I understand it.

What are these china_*.conf files in static_routes

So...Is this a blacklist, whitelist? I don't mean to be annoying, even if I know that'll be the perception, but the response didn't really answer the question here. Is this unnecessary for me in the United States? Is it necessary? Is it a security risk? There doesn't seem to be a "block" or...

    dnscrypt disadvantages

Glad to see yet another spirited discussion on security, privacy, dns, and, perhaps, exercises in futility. I'm glad to see the DNSSEC option has been included in Merlin's 380 build. In terms of the DNS, is this the only "security" option necessary for home-use internet traffic? Assuming...

    Firewall

The router is directing traffic between different Networks. The Switch is controlling traffic between nodes on the same Network (LAN). You could separate the node from the Network, though, I'm not sure which "functions" AsusWRT-Merlin supports for this. If that's not possible with Merlin fw...

    USB Drive has mount errors

It's a 16GB usb3.0 drive. The real issue arises when the usb drive is, presumably, mounted too late for certain scripts and/or configuration options to take effect. This is less evident with the entware setup, as it seems to be working correctly after it mounts.

    USB Drive has mount errors

Same result here even after following your advice, @john9527 . kernel: EXT2-fs (sda5): warning: mounting unchecked fs, running e2fsck is recommended kernel: EXT4-fs (sda1): warning: maximal mount count reached, running e2fsck is recommended Furthermore, the usb-related scripts are useless as...

    USB Drive has mount errors

Yup. Same problem here; unfortunately, no responses/advice

AC56U external drive and Cannot allocate memory

AC56U external drive and Cannot allocate memory

I can't even schedule `fsck` on a 16GB USB3.0 pendrive on an AC56U. By the time the router detects the USB ports/drive it's already too late or it just ignores the relevant scripts. # cat /jffs/scripts/pre-mount #!/bin/sh touch /tmp/003premountscriptd if [ $1 = "/dev/sda5" ] then...

AC56U : all attached usb drives spinup when mounting/remounting a drive

@heliosone Did you ever find a resolution to this issue?

    ASUS RT-AC66R USB Drive Error

I'd be interested to hear any input about this as well, as I've been having issues with the USB ports on AsusWRT-Merlin with a 16GB USB3.0 pendrive as well as a USB2.0 printer not being recognized after a reboot. This is on an AC56U router w/1 USB3.0 port and 1 USB2.0 port. @redsoxfanatic76...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56 Beta 1 is out

At the risk of being banished from the planet, I must announce an update to the previously long-winded discussion regarding USB-printer support. As it turns out, the printer-sharing feature is alive and well :D on asuswrt-merlin-378.56_beta1, the official asuswrt 378_9155 and, I suspect, the...

There are no entries pertaining to dnscrypt at all. Maybe I need to reinstall entware?

    Dnscrypt from opendns

NOTE: you're example failed to include a "shebang" in the init-start and wan-start scripts. To test if the scripts started I added some lines taken from the Wiki: :/tmp/home/root# cat /jffs/scripts/init-start #!/bin/sh touch /tmp/000initstartted /jffs/fake-hwclock load and :/tmp/home/root#...

    Dnscrypt from opendns

No luck with that either. It seems that the /opt directory, under which the writeable /jffs directory is mounted, doesn't get mounted until well after booting is completed; none of the partitions on the USB drive do. Therefore, the scripts might not get executed correctly in time; though, I'm...

    Dnscrypt from opendns

Thanks so much for the extensive support, helping me to resolve this issue and add another page of discussion to this thread  . AFAICT, my problem stems from the fake-hwclock not working correctly. Once I add the /jffs/configs/dnsmasq.conf.add script and reboot I don't have name...

    Dnscrypt from opendns

In terms of customizing the dnscrypt-related files in "/opt/", I'm not sure what, if anything, should be changed. :/# cat /opt/etc/init.d/S09dnscrypt-proxy #!/bin/sh ENABLED=yes PROCS=dnscrypt-proxy ARGS="--local-address=127.0.0.1:65053 --daemonize -R opendns" PREARGS="" DESC=$PROCS...

    Dnscrypt from opendns

My problem might be stemming from my PATH variable. `dnscrypt` updates the PATH to prepend /opt/bin:/opt/sbin, but then "/opt/bin:/opt/sbin" is appended to the PATH at the end by default. So, prepending the custom directory might not have any effect if it's called again AFTER the primary...
