    Why no new Merlin firmware?

GPL is not the problem, since Asus can blob everything that it does not want to go public.

    Beta [Fork] 384.13 builds

You know, AsusWRT is not the only game in town. There still are DD-WRT and FreshTomato. Even OpenWRT could be used, although it is not a great option for WiFi.

    ntpMerlin ntpMerlin v3.x

Hardware acceleration is really important for me. I have a 600 Mbps download connection.

    ntpMerlin ntpMerlin v3.x

Using https://www.timesynctool.com/ I go for a while to the year 2047 with ntpmerlin (time requests are mangled). I have an AC68U with the latest Alpha2 build from Merlin.

Assistance needed with Hardware Acceleration on RT-AC68 and Merlin

I get 517 Mbps out of nominally 500 Mbps line. I have AI Protection enabled on an AC68U.

dnsmasq dies because of wrong sort of IP

Correction: Here is where it is bad: dhcp-option=dnsf8,option6:23,[8.8.8.8] dhcp-option=dnsf9,option6:23,[8.8.8.8] dhcp-option=dnsf10,option6:23,[8.8.8.8] I have edited /jffs/configs/dnsmasq.conf and now the router works.

dnsmasq dies because of wrong sort of IP

Hi, this is about an AC68U with firmware 386.2_beta2. dnsmasq dies because 8.8.8.8 is not an IPv6 IP address when I enable DNSFilter, Global Filter Mode: Router and reboot the router. I have IPv6 enabled (Passthrough). It does work OK if I enable DNSFilter after the router gets working. Here...

Assistance needed with Hardware Acceleration on RT-AC68 and Merlin

And let's not forget something less obvious: don't clone your MAC address. It slashes download speed to about 270 Mbps for my router (AC56U). So, check cloned MAC address in the settings of your router, it has to be empty.

Assistance needed with Hardware Acceleration on RT-AC68 and Merlin

Friend, there is "fake FA". I.e. the router thinks it is FA-capable, but it isn't. In this case enabling FA means slower speeds that CTF alone. So, yeah, I have a less powerful router, and CTF alone gives me 500 Mbps out of my nominal 500 Mbps download speed. STP and Jumbo frames do not seem...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

And I should say 2.4 GHz is not meant for fast downloads. Anyway not by using the hardware fit for John's fork. Oh, yes, if you have neighbors near don't use 40 MHz wide channels for 2.4.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I have moved the tftproot inside the entware folder and this seems to have fixed it. Oh, no: three instances are back again. They come and go: 3, 1, 3, 1, etc.

I don't have two different blocking lists. I thought you ask about the "+" list.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Yes, I do. I have two AC56U: on one of them there is only one dnsmasq instance, on the other there are three.

I have three instances of dnsmasq on my router. How to have only one instance?

    Both are true.

RT-N16 is an even older router and still handles 350 Mbps OK. Perhaps 500 Mbps (download speed).

Yup, you may use PiHole as DoT or DoH.
