Alternative to NextDNS - that works with and without merlin FW

I had lots of trouble with NextDNS (Slow speeds and Payment problems) so I tried AdGuard DNS (Just came out of Beta) and so far it works great on my Router. https://adguard-dns.io/en/welcome.html I do not work for AdGuard. I believe you can still try it for free If you click on "Try Adguard...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.80SF & v. 1.0.2.80.4SF & v. 1.0.2.80.5SF

You can not upload a ".img" firmware into OpenWRT (OpenWRT uses "*.bin") to get back to Netgear or Voxel firmware. In the past I have used the following procedure to go from OpenWRT to Netgear (or Voxel) firmware...

Netgear xr500 your experiences with this router.

Microcenter has the XR500 on sale for $219.99: NetGear Nighthawk Pro XR500 AC2600 Dual-Band Gigabit Wireless Router http://www.microcenter.com/product/503331/Nighthawk_Pro_XR500_AC2600_Dual-Band_Gigabit_Wireless_Router I could have gone to Microcenter or had my local Best Buy price match it...

Netgear xr500 your experiences with this router.

I have to disagree, most people buying a top of the line router expect it to support their home network as well otherwise Netgear would not bother to include USB ports and Readyshare features. If you look at the xr500 "Data Sheet" it states "READYSHARE® USB ACCESS—Wirelessly access & share USB...

Netgear xr500 your experiences with this router.

See link below: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Pro-Gaming-Routers/Nighthawk-XR500-USB-Control-Center-not-recognizing-my-printer/m-p/1537553 "NETGEAR confirmed that the ReadySHARE Print feature was mistakenly removed from the XR500 firmware and it will be restored in the next...

Netgear xr500 your experiences with this router.

I think the real problem is Netgear and their piss poor firmware. Most of us are sick and tired of the problems that never get fixed and the extremely long length of time it takes for Netgear to finally acknowledge a problem and fix it. Netgear makes good hardware but their firmware just plain...

Netgear xr500 your experiences with this router.

As I stated before, I really liked the xr500 interface look and feel. It makes the R7800 look much more professional and gives you the appearance of quality. Netgears firmware looks like it was quickly thrown together in a back room as an afterthought. For the short time I used the xr500...

Netgear xr500 your experiences with this router.

I used the following procedure: https://kb.netgear.com/22688/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-TFTP This should work for you. Also, I found that the "tftpd64" program works better so I use it: http://tftpd32.jounin.net/tftpd32_download.html Quick instructions: Download the...

Netgear xr500 your experiences with this router.

OK these posts got me interested so I gave it a try on my R7800. I like the interface and QOS features much better than standard Netgear and it ran very well on my R7800. The only problem I found was I could not get access to my eSATA drive via Readyshare. I'm sure this is due to the fact...

    R7800 USB 3.0 write/read performance

I do not use the USB 3.0 ports, I use the eSATA port for my external HD. Have you tried using the eSATA port on the R7800? My transfer rates are much better than you are listing with eSATA...

    NETGEAR’s CES 2018 Announcements:

Based on the article, it looks like the NETGEAR Armor feature is an annual subscription that costs $69.99. This cost will include the Bitdefender Family Pack anti-malware applications for protecting up to 20 Android, iOS, Windows or MacOS systems or devices. Also sounds like this coverage is not...

    Its back....

Since you were on the OEM firmware, I recommend that you reset the router to to factory default settings and then set your router settings as required. A factory reset is not needed for future upgrades of Voxel's excellent firmware.
