[AC68U] USB modem doesn't load every site when connected to the router

I was tired of this problem and unfortunately nobody was able to help me... I went and configured an OpenVPN instance over at DigitalOcean for personal use and I no longer have issues loading pages and connecting to some services (I couldn't connect to EA servers to play FIFA 16). This is not...

[AC68U] USB modem doesn't load every site when connected to the router

Yes, always did a factory reset before and after installing new firmware. I was on 374.43_2, cause that was the most recent version that worked with my USB dongle. Have you tried a VPN? This "fixes" it for me and if a VPN works by encrypting all the traffic, some configuration on the router...

[AC68U] USB modem doesn't load every site when connected to the router

Yes, using Tomato. I tried to post this on their forums, I didn't get a response. But before using Tomato I was using Merlin's firmware and the problem was also there.

Does anybody have any idea why would this happen?

[AC68U] USB modem doesn't load every site when connected to the router

I have an ASUS AC68U router and I'm currently using Tomato by Shibby (Tomato Firmware 1.28.0000 -3.0-132 K26ARM USB AIO-64K) but I've used AsusWrt-Merlin before to connect my HUAWEI E3276s-150 USB modem (4G dongle) to the router and provide Internet access around my network. Setting this up is...

[RT-AC68U] Can't connect to certain websites (USB 4G Dongle)

Well, it doesn't really solve the issue I described on this post. My previous post might have been a bit misleading... What I meant was that configuring the dongle was no much easier and quick with AdvancedTomato (or Tomato by Shibby if you prefer). I just plugged it in, configured a 4G...

[RT-AC68U] Can't connect to certain websites (USB 4G Dongle)

For the record, I'm now using AdvancedTomato (it's just Tomato by Shibby but with a modern good looking GUI) and the setup of my 4G USB modem was painless. Everything I had previously configured through scripts and/or NVRAM tweaks (4G connection and custom DNS servers, mostly) are now completely...

Internet Explorer opens pages that Firefox/Chrome doesn't!?

AFAIK, it's using only Google's DNS servers and there's no proxies in between. Used all those test sites above. Cause I've also realized it's actually happening to some HTTP sites too, not just HTTPS. There's no pattern to this, it just happens from time to time. Honestly, I believe that my...

Internet Explorer opens pages that Firefox/Chrome doesn't!?

I'm not sure that's exactly the problem. I mean, when I'm over at my parents house - they have a fiber connection - with the same exact computer, I don't have an issue loading any website. But at my place - with a 4G connection - I do have the problem mentioned above.

Internet Explorer opens pages that Firefox/Chrome doesn't!?

Also, I believe this issue only happens on HTTPS websites. Normal HTTP sites load just fine...

Internet Explorer opens pages that Firefox/Chrome doesn't!?

Tried that many times (I'm using Windows), doesn't seem to really help... I'm forcing Google's DNS servers on the router (ASUS) with a custom script to override dnsmasq configuration. By default it picks DNS servers from /tmp/resolv.conf which is populated with the DNS servers from the 4G...

[RT-AC68U] Can't connect to certain websites (USB 4G Dongle)

For the record, I'm having this issue with various websites, mostly with HTTPS connections. HTTP ones work just fine. A curious thing though is that I can't open Asuswrt-Merlin website with any browser (whereas I can open some HTTPS sites with IE, but not with Firefox/Chrome).

[RT-AC68U] Can't connect to certain websites (USB 4G Dongle)

I followed this guide and the value I got was 1500, isn't that right? However, the firmware version I'm using does not expose the MTU setting. Should I just change them with nvram set? Which values, here's my current settings: admin@RT-AC68U:/tmp/home/root# nvram show | grep mtu pptpd_mtu=1450...

[RT-AC68U] Can't connect to certain websites (USB 4G Dongle)

It's just that I can't get my dongle to work like you do (with easy setup through the GUI). I need to have custom scripts to make it all work...

[RT-AC68U] Can't connect to certain websites (USB 4G Dongle)

How are you using that firmware version? How is your dongle connected? Do you use scripts to connect?

Internet Explorer opens pages that Firefox/Chrome doesn't!?

First of all, please forgive me if this is not in the proper forum. I'm currently running Windows 8.1 x64 connected to my ASUS AC68U router through 1Gbit Ethernet cable. My Internet connection is a USB 4G modem connected to the USB 2.0 port of the router. My problem is that sometimes I have a...

Is there a problem calling "nvram set" inside a custom script?

Following the solution to a particular problem on this thread, I was wondering if there is any kind of problem or danger in calling "nvram set" command inside a custom script? In this particular case, I'm calling nvram set wan1_dns="(...)" inside the dnsmasq.postconf script. Is this OK to do?
