Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Diversion isn't blocking ads anymore. Nothing has changed any ideas what it could be? Every device is pointing to my router as a DNS. Also is it possible to add full lists of blacklists instead of adding them one by one? That is the most tedious way I can think of doing it. I see an option to...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Another issue. Since setting this up, I am now noticing that my unRaid server is longer being shown as available in Networks in File Explorer. Any ideas on this? *EDIT Not to worry this fixed it lol.

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Funny you should mention that! I just went into that section and turned on Enable DNS-based Filtering and changed Global Filter Mode to Router and low and behold it looks to be blocking ads now. I am using CloudFlare DNS 1.1.1.1 - 1.0.0.1 but that is set in the WAN DNS Setting section (under...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Hmmm how would I go about diagnosing this? Do my settings seem correct as shown in the images?

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

I installed Diversion and all went fine. But I am still seeing ads. Tried a few different helpful tips found in this thread but nothing works. I set it up correctly, but ads are still being shown

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

Well as stated, the router was on for over 3 days. But I did just do a reboot now so I will see if this changes anything in the next 48 hours. I suspect no. This is on a AC87U btw.

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

I can confirm that the Client Status list is broken. A number of WiFi Connected devices are showing as being connected via Ethernet when this is not the case. IT was always working as normal in all past firmware updates. The Router has been on for over 3 days and it didn't change. Rebooted twice...

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

Thanks guys for the input @unsynaps and @Butterfly Bones I cleared the NVRAM turned router off for 10 seconds powered it on went ahead to setup my network. And it looks like the UI is buggy still? When entering a Network Name and Password for 2Ghz and 5Ghz it just hangs and it doesn't proceed...

@elintseeker Great then would I use mtd-erase2 nvram as before? Or has that changed also? *edit Just tried and I get 'ssh' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

Seeing Telnet is compeltely removed and SSH is now required. How would one use SSH to clear NVRAM etc? I've always been used to using telnet 192.168.1.1 then logging in using my username/password. Can someone explain step by step on how to login via SSH and what command to use to clear NVRAM?

    RT-AC87u (Latest firmware issues)

Tried the above 4 days ago, everything ran fine up until a few minutes ago. The router lost all connectivity and rebooted right at this point according to system log. Nov 25 10:29:58 rc_service: ntp 662:notify_rc restart_upnp I've sent a feedback form on 2 occasions (one being just now) to...

    RT-AC87u (Latest firmware issues)

Sure did.. I always do a factory reset and start fresh. Even tried via Telnet no dice. Do you know if there is anyway to revert to an older version? Look's like the newer firmware updates have no locked you into using anything newer than the last. Just to add, I have also left all settings at...

    RT-AC87u (Latest firmware issues)

Hey guys, need some insight on what's going on. After upgrading to the latest firmware 3.0.0.4.380_3459 (also happens on latest merlin firmware) I have noticed that my router will lose all connectivity and it will reboot itself (quite slowly) and this happens at least 3 or 4 times a week...

    AC-87u - 380.57 Cannot Block Google DNS

Oh. Currently I am back on the latest official ASUS firmware version which is Firmware Version:3.0.0.4.378_9460 Though the older merlin firmware versions prior to the need of CIDR all worked before. Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk

    AC-87u - 380.57 Cannot Block Google DNS

It was though this is why I am baffled as to why merlin changed how it works in his latest fw. Doing it the way I have always done allows me to use the chromecast with apps that are only designed to work in the US. I use a DNS service to access the US Netflix along with some sporting apps that...

    AC-87u - 380.57 Cannot Block Google DNS

Not entirely true. I have just reverted back to an older merlin version and ASUS official and i can enter 8.8.*.* TCP ALL followed by 8.8.*.* and Netflix works 100% along with some apps i use to stream sports to my chromecast. So it is something with the latest firmware. So it seems anyway. If...

    AC-87u - 380.57 Cannot Block Google DNS

Would I apply this entry twice as before with one being TCP ALL and the other UDP? Colin, yes thank you for letting me know. I sent that originally with tapatalk which it didnt seem to go through but clearly it did. Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk

    AC-87u - 380.57 Cannot Block Google DNS

Hi guys. I have updated my RT-AC87u to the latest firmware and I have noticed I cannot block Google's DNS to use my chromecast. As you can see from the picture below I get an error. Can someone tell me how I can bypass this and enter 8.8.*.* like before?
