    Is Asus DDNS Service Reliable?

Yes, both nslookup and traceroute return the correct IP address. Of course the Asus DDNS service is working fine right now, and I can't troubleshoot it. Maybe one of those Monday morning operating issues that are discovered and fixed.

    Is Asus DDNS Service Reliable?

I've had my ASUS router registered with their asuscomm.com DDNS service for a long time, but have recently noticed a few connection issues while trying to connect to my NVR service. Sometimes, the iPhone NVR software can't find the NVR when using the registered MyHostName.asuscomm.com domain...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_4 is now available

Dirty update to my GT-AX6000 and RT-AX86U Pro nodes. Running fine. I did try to upload the RT-AX86U non-Pro firmware to my Pro routers, twice, and was wondering why the version didn't change. LOL. It's heck getting old and not paying attention to those little pesky details. As always...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.9 beta is now available for AC models

386.9 Beta has been working flawlessly on all 3 of my AC AiMesh nodes. Of course, AiMesh devices are more of a black box setup that you don't have much control over what's happening, or ability to view basic health status such as CPU info, uptime, etc., through the GUI. More seat of the pants...

"Best" new router that supports Merlin?

Those new features sound great! Hats off to Asus for their forward thinking and ongoing effort to make the best home routers out there.

Which Firmware For AiMesh AC Nodes

I've read various opinions on which firmware to run on AiMesh nodes, from it doesn't matter too much, to run as close to the same version as your router. I also heard that running the Asus firmware instead of Merlin is suggested, which is what I'm doing now. I'm sure many others may be...

"Best" new router that supports Merlin?

I just replaced my old setup (RT-AC86U main, two RT-AC68U AiMesh's, wired) with a GT-AX6000 last week or so. Installed it out of the box to check out the ROG UI for a day or so, then installed Merlin 388.1 non-ROG. I like the familiar screens better. I moved my RT-AC86U out to my covered...

    Wait For Asus 6E Router?

Thanks all! Decided on the GT-AX6000. And I want to run Merlin. On sale on B&H for the next couple days, decent price. My grandkids will think I'm becoming a gamer! ;)

    Wait For Asus 6E Router?

I'm looking to replace my RT-AC86U router. I'm looking at either the RT-AX86U Pro or GT-AX6000. But, does ASUS have a WiFi 6E in the pipeline? If so, should I just wait? Or settle for WiFi 6 for the next few years? Thanks!

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

Did a dirty update yesterday from 384.19 to 386.1. Took an hour for GUI to appear after login, be patient. Cleared my browser cache. Worked fine for about 16 hours, then WAN access stopped. Did hard resets on all 3 devices and reconfigured (RT-AC86-U with two RT-AC68U AiMesh nodes). Basic...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Here's an idea...How about an option to pause the blocking for a set about of time. Currently I use Terminus on my iPhone to login and disable blocking, do something on the web that is normally blocked (for some reason the standard file blocks Citi services to pay my Home Depot card), then...

[Beta 384/NG] Asuswrt-merlin 384.4 Beta is now available

Well, yes, one router, two AP’s, to give strong coverage over a large area. Probably overkill. I’m old school and prefer wired connections. 3 devices, 6 SSID’s, allows to choose the stronger signal if not automatically done, which usually occurs. Until AIMesh and Smart Connect mature, seems...

[Beta 384/NG] Asuswrt-merlin 384.4 Beta is now available

Updated my 2 RT-AC68U AP's and RT-AC86U router from 384.4 alpha1 to 384.4 beta1. No restore was done. All is well so far.

[Beta 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.3 Beta is now available

No, I haven't done a factory reset for about the last 4-5 upgrades. I kept screen-shots, notes, links, etc., of all the configuration screens in a OneNote file for when I did have to reset and configure, but haven't had to refer to it for months.

[Beta 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.3 Beta is now available

Updated my two RT-AC68U's (Router and Access Point) from 380.69.2 to 384.3 Beta. Working great! Thanks Merlin! Donated a meager amount again to show my appreciation of the work involved to maintain this effort. Encourage others to do the same to make it worth his while.

    [Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.58 Beta 1 is available

I was just getting ready to install the alpha3 version and saw this. Perfect timing! Updated both my RT-AC68U (B1) devices, one of which is an AP, from 378.56_2 to 380.58 Beta. Pretty basic setup, a few port forwarding entries, and running AB-Solution 1.0. Thanks Merlin!
