Beware of MWave, Eworldsale for Synology Products

This product was sold as a refurbished unit that carried manufacturers warranty. This was obviously not the case. That is a good idea on registering the product. However, I don't know that will work since I contacted Synology and they stated that the product is not covered by any warranty.

Beware of MWave, Eworldsale for Synology Products

I think that I will never purchase a product from mwave or eworldsale. Regarding Synology, I am upset that they would not even offer a warranty on a product that has only been out a couple of months. Completely not accepting any responsibility is their problem. I think that shows they are a...

Beware of MWave, Eworldsale for Synology Products

I wanted to spend a second to inform the community about a recent purchase I made. I was looking around for a DS710+ when I found that eworldsale.com was selling one that was advertised as refurbished. It was selling at a discount, so I decided to purchase it. When I received the package, I...

Best Online Backup of a NAS?

Thanks for your response! I was getting frustrated with this whole situation, and have been wondering if I should buy a 2nd NAS to put at my parents house to have a backup of my data. This looks much more promising. I will have to take a look at these 2 options.

Oh crap that is expensive. I thought you were adding a zero, but it looks like it was the other way around.

Best Online Backup of a NAS?

Think you mean $23/mo, but that is still too much... Maybe I need to figure out mozy on my NAS.

Best Online Backup of a NAS?

I think I will be backing up around 1.5tb of important stuff, and another 1.5th of less important stuff (can do without this if much cheaper). I don't know my upload speed. I wouldn't mind installing a client. However, I am leaning towards Synologys built in Amazon s3 service.

    Synology DS710+ slower than DS410?

According to this chart the DS710+ is slower than the DS410. Why is this? The specs on the 710+ are much nicer than the DS410. Thanks http://reviews.cnet.com/network-storage/synology-disk-station-ds410/4505-3382_7-34006041-2.html?tag=txt;page

Considering DS410 or Netgear ReadyNAS NV+

That is really helpful. Thank you. I know the synology would be better, but it is hard for me to guage how much faster it would really be. I would just buy the DS410j, but I have read reports that it struggles with performance. What if I upgraded the RAM on a READYNAS NV+, would it...

Best Online Backup of a NAS?

I am wondering what the best way to make an online backup of all my data on my NAS would be? Amazon EC3, Mozy, Carbonite? I am willing to spend about $10/mo for a service like this. What would work well for a Netgear ReadyNAS or Synology DS410?

Considering DS410 or Netgear ReadyNAS NV+

Can someone help me out. I can get the ReadyNAS NV+ for $350 or the DS410 for $500 or the DS410j. I have a few questions. I am leaning towards the DS410 because it is so much newer, updated software and hardware, and looks more mac friendly with Time Machine support etc. How does the...

    Upgrading Drives on RAID 5.

I am wondering how difficult it is to add a 4th drive to the DS410? I just bought 3 drives, and will eventually buy a 4th drive. I am really new to RAID, but was planning on using RAID 5 or synology's proprietary raid on a DS410. How hard is it to add a drive later to expand the RAID...
