Problem getting Wireless IP address - Some Clients

Thanks for the help! I'll have to wait for the family to got to bed before I bring down the network. I'll wipe the router, and start with just the basics, and see if I can narrow down the variables. I'll report back.

Problem getting Wireless IP address - Some Clients

What are the devices (make/model) that cannot connect to the router's WiFi? A dell 7400 Laptop with a ax201 Card, and a HP Pavilion with a 8265 intel card. Have you tried changing the WiFi channel or if set to auto, manually set a WiFi channel? Channel is fixed, and always has been. Please...

Problem getting Wireless IP address - Some Clients

I'm less than 20" from the router, and don't move between switching between Guest SSID and the main SSID. I'm thinking that 0 signal is a log of when I manually disconnect to try the other SSID?

Problem getting Wireless IP address - Some Clients

Let me start with; I'm guessing this is something silly, and I'm just 'thinking around it'. I'm just a guy, who can't put my finger on what is going on. The Stats: RT-AX86U Pro, running 3004.388.7. Add-ons are VN-stats, YazDHCP, connmon. Current State: Been running fine for quite some...

Wireless 5GHz takes 10 minutes to be ready

Definitely not normal. Two routes possible, IMHO: 1) You have a hardware failure, or pending hardware failure, probably with the radio. (not my guess) 2) You have a software problem, that you could spend A LOT of time trying to narrow down. You say you did a factory reset...Clearing NVRam...

    AIMESH or Access Points.. ???

Neither of these is exclusive to AIMesh. I also have one SSID, for both bands and all 3 routers. I also use SmartConnect, and my clients all switchover flawlessly, moving around the house, and yard. (Using AP mode) This includes several apple devices, android devices, NS gaming systems...

    AIMESH or Access Points.. ???

I personally use AP mode. Tried AImesh for a while, but really didn't see any advantages. It's really not that hard to manage AP's independently. (I prefer it, after doing a software update via AIMESH once... and getting into never never land.) I switched back to AP mode, because I can...

Manually Assigned IP Address Entry Not Working

Agree, This. Experienced it many times as I've added things to my network, using stock and Merlin FW (I use the fact that anything is in the DHCP range, is that my kids are adding something) Either ipconfig /release (and then /Renew), or just wait for lease to expire.

Asuswrt Merlin - Rt-ac68u (TMO AC1900) Network cable unplugged

Yeah, it's really not supposed to have Asuswrt firmware either. So still no help here. Throw Tmo firmware back on it if you really want to test, but I'm guessing you got your moneys worth out of it, so buy something new. Sweetspot still seems to be a ac86u, IMHO.

Asuswrt Merlin - Rt-ac68u (TMO AC1900) Network cable unplugged

Please read this, that is stickied to the first few threads in this forum: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/the-tm-ac1900-is-not-supported.48056/ My thoughts are the router is toast, and you should replace it with one of the modems Merlin supports. :)

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.7 Beta is now available

Channel 44, 20/40/80 for bandwidth here.

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.7 Beta is now available

I've had really good luck on this version, alpha's and beta's. I was having problems with limited slots for 2.4Ghz before, but both 2.4G and 5G have been flawless for me. BUT, I also started from a fresh NVRAM, and followed the recommendations from others for settings on those bands at the...

    Blocking Wired devices?

I personally prefer that over them doing bad things on the account with MY name on it. :)

    Blocking Wired devices?

I feel for you, I really do. I was a single parent of three, for a period time, while two were in there early teens. It aint easy to be the mean dad. I also don't believe in corporal punishment, and it wouldn't work if i did. :) Long and short, do what you did, and pull the internet...

    Blocking Wired devices?

Well; I know how this would be handled in my home, with my children. If they cannot be trusted to not circumvent protections, the pins in the RJ45 jacks of THEIR devices would be carefully broken out of the socket. The wireless passwords would be changed, never to be handed out again. Problem...

    PPPoe Connection using Merlin

This is not completely a Merlin question, but since I am using Merlin, and the options don't seem to be documented well in the ASUS manual, I thought I would ask here. (And the Fact that most Merlin uses seem WAAAAAY above average on this stuff) Backround: AC68U, running 380.64_2, tied to a...

    RT-N66U NVRAM

Mine is 50033 / 65536 bytes, if that is any help. 380.62_2.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.63_2 is now available

So maybe not on the N66U? I'm good either way, just curious. (This may explain why I can't find it! :) )

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.63_2 is now available

Alright, Dumbass question, but after a general google search, and going tab to tab, I'm missing where AIProtect is enabled/Disabled. (I'm not lazy, i'm just missing it.....) What am I looking right past?

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.62 Beta is available

Same problem here, excluding it the jump was from 380.58 to 380.61, and on one of my N66u. 380.62beta now installed, and hope that it solves this odd problem. Too early to tell, but I'll report back.
