    WAN monitoring…..

Sorry I was in a bit of a rush to send the original post, I have a ASUS 16000-Axe, is AMTM what monitors it? I didn’t add that I have a bit of a strange setup, I’m on Virgin as my isp, this is full FTTP not Co-axe. I am using a Hub5x this can’t be put into “modem mode” at this time due to the...

    WAN monitoring…..

Hi all, I’m having a little bit of a problem with my ISP. I have been with them for 5 months and I have a complaint against them with Ofcom, I have phoned twice over the last week to have the latest documented, on the phone they say they will send me a email but they don’t. I’m only a very...

Virgin FTTP and ASUS AXE16000 problems…… please help.

Never thought about doing it from the router. Always just gone to the device and set the ip address manually. No reason for that. I just like a static for some devices so I remember what they are for setting other apps up like ftp or moving files.

Virgin FTTP and ASUS AXE16000 problems…… please help.

@JimbobJay Thank you so much...... not quite as easy as you have said, but i think you have resolved it for me. For some reason having my router as 192.168.1.1 wouldnt let the internet come through to my stuff as i had already tried static IP, however changing my router to 192.168.10.1 seems to...

Virgin FTTP and ASUS AXE16000 problems…… please help.

So last weekend I FINALLY managed to get a decent internet connection. After years of 50meg and films buffering as kids download game updates 😂😂. I have signed up with Virgin media (due to lack of choice) and because it is full fibre I have their Hub 5x. This doesn’t support “modem only” mode...

Nas only to link to Intel NUC

Yeah, I had already looked at this, was looking at running an ethernet to the loft and sitting the computer up there, but no electric sockets, in all honesty I haven't been "Told by the wife" but I don't use it for gaming (occasionally I play football manager) but i have a corner desk with two...

Nas only to link to Intel NUC

I only put the pc specs to show that I wouldn’t be reliant on the NAS for streaming Plex remotely and that the NUC will be responsible for most of the heavy lifting, I was more looking for advice on the box itself, and that despite the 1GB of ram (I believe it’s not upgradable) OR if there was a...

Nas only to link to Intel NUC

Hey all, I have got to the point Im sick of my Mrs complaining about my pc taking up too much space and shes wanting me to get rid of the 3 monitors and my big (slightly bigger than average) pc. Sooooooooo, I have just purchased a Intel NUC 13th gen i7, I am going to use this as a general rig...

    Any way around double NAT?

I’ll. e honest, I’ve never had a issue with double Nat as I’ve only ever used one, I’ve just heard people having issues with it, was hoping to avoid it before having any troubles.

    Any way around double NAT?

I have just been sent this screenshot of the Virgin router, it shows DMZ. I wondered if you could port forward everything to the asus. This is the 5 but the newer 5x may be different.

    Any way around double NAT?

It’s going to be Virgin FTTP, they seemingly use a ONT/Router all in one that doesn’t currently have a modem only mode and i wont be using any landline/voip service.

    Any way around double NAT?

No as I say all Openreach services are copper, limiting me to 50meg (very strange as using a openreach modem I get 50-55meg) but BT hub I get 70…… but want to use my asus. It’s Virgin that have recently been laying FTTP but they only offer the hub5x which at the moment doesnt support modem only...

    Any way around double NAT?

Would I still be able to access the router externally (My asus) also I didn’t mention I have my router connected to an older ac5300 as a mesh.

    Any way around double NAT?

I’m hoping to change ISP soon, as current one with Openreach is only about 50 meg and new FTTP being installed will give either 1 or 2 gig. Doing a little research into them and the current router they provide, at the moment doesn’t provide a “modem only mode”. I want to use my current Asus...

    PC fans

Yeah I’m really not sure now. I watched a YouTube video that said if you use a 4 pin header it will blow the RGB. If I was to get RGB I was going to fill the case…… 7 fans needed and defo overkill for my useage. Might look at non RGB and just swap the 3 out. 😂😂 may be cheaper too.
