    I have previously used the username.synology.me address we get by default and that also works really well. Only disadvantage is that it is on the open web and not behind a VPN.

    Correct - External Access as i travel a lot and would like to be able to get to my router if the family has any problems - i can do that indirectly by accessing any of my PCs at home via remote software but it would be nice to get to the router directly. - Thanks
