    Sure enough... that "tailscale serve" command did the trick... and I was able to get to my router web UI remotely in kernel mode! But what a PITA! You would have to run a separate command each time that would have it run in the background just for this to work... and may require one of the URL...

    @SALMIGHTY ... Another suggestion... perhaps also trying a different browser, different computer... drop some browser addins... perhaps go incognito mode. Perhaps that will help get this functionality working better on your end?

    No prob... yeah, it's just very unusual for the custom config section not to save. Not sure how to duplicate that since it always seems to work for me. Perhaps just putting in a few lines, and see if it saves with that? I remember back in the day there wasn't enough memory to hold a larger...

    I'm able to confirm the same behavior. When I switch to "standard" tailmon kernel mode, I can no longer access my router from remote. When I switch back to userspace mode, everything works perfectly. Not sure what it could be. But this is the same problem I've had from the start with kernel...

    Have you loaded the .ovpn file into the VPN slot? Perhaps provide some screenshots of your settings?

    You're welcome. Glad this closed thread is still of help! ;). But no, the code should remain. I would try saving/applying before enabling the VPN connection. See if that works?

    Meh. It's either probably "by design", or "for security reasons", or "due to limitations in the OS". ;)

    Yeah, that's basically what I had to do... ;) Ubuntu went automatically. Windows was automatic. The routers require manual intervention. No biggie. I'm just a big complainer. ;)

    "Auto-updates are currently not supported on Synology and Linux distributions based on Arch Linux" Well, that's like more than half of my devices... ;)

    Jeez... I feel bad for those who have to manage a large Tailscale network with thousands of devices... wonder if they have any auto update functionality, or ways to push updates. These updates seem to be coming fast one after another... Yeah, me on my little 5 device tailnet is COMPLAINING. LOL
