    Works fine on AXE1600 & Ax88. Thanks!

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

I'm extremely happy with the current state of the AXE16000. I'm in no rush to shift to 3006. Was really on the fence when I purchased the AXE16000 to replace an AX88 (now in mesh), but it was on sale and it had 2Gb of memory and speedier ethernet connections, so I went for it. It is doing a...

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

Can't speak for the wifi 7 models, but I upgraded from a RT-AX88U (1 GB) to a GT-AXE16000 (2 GB) and the stability difference is very noticeable. I run 90+ clients using 4 aimesh units (including an old but still reliable 1750b) and some amtm apps, Skynet being the largest. The unit uses...

    What's This Sub-Menu Item?

Was exploring the newest release (3004.388.7_0_rog), and I found two sub menus under the IPV6 tab. Oddly the second tab only appears when you hover over the IPV6 tab, and it called 'Advanced_IPV61_Content'. Rather than advance content, it seems to be an identical page to the IPv6 main page...

'Fatal Signal Six' Rises From the Dead

Just a follow up on the problem in case someone else stumbles upon it; It has disappeared, so it was probably solved by doing one or more of three things: 1. Installed scMerlin and activated dnsmasq watchdog 2. Removed YazDHCP (YazDHCP and possible storage failure might be intertwined) 3...

'Fatal Signal Six' Rises From the Dead

Not seeing anything related to WAN-down; fortunately the wan connection is pretty stable. Logs so far today are pretty clean. I'll keep watching events and will update with any info. Thx.

'Fatal Signal Six' Rises From the Dead

Thanks alan. I thought maybe it was related to some amtm scripts or my storage device, so I deleted all scripts and changed out the storage, then reinstalled the scripts (I am using YazDHCP since I have close to 90 devices). I also added scMerlin and turned on the dnsmasq watchdog, so we'll see...

'Fatal Signal Six' Rises From the Dead

GTAXE16000: 3004.388.7_beta1 I recently bought a new router and have been extremely pleased with it, but now after almost flawless operation over the last month, I've had two nights in a row that I woke up to a 'no internet' and this message in the log: potentially unexpected fatal signal 6...

Merlin "End of Life" for 386.x firmware implications

I still have an RT-AC1750b router running as an Aimesh node. The last cursory Asus firmware release was back in November 23 and before that in May of 23. Seems to be working great, but if I was wondering if I was creating a security problem. From your comments, it sounds like it's good to go as...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Thanks - my bad. I could have sworn it said mounted in the past.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

AX88U/3004.388.6: Very minor problem. I have an SSD plugged into the front USB port (doesn't matter which one, though), and the SSD name is displayed, but the box below on the main page remains blank - no longer says mounted. It's working fine, I'm running several AMTM apps using it. Just a bit...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 Beta is now available

AX88U/Beta1: DDNS was inactive when firmware was applied. Reset certs and DDNS came back (using asus DDNS), after a couple of days it went inactive again and I cannot restore it. Other than that, things seem fine. Update: It's back again after a few down days. Is the asuscomm site having troubles?

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 Beta is now available

RT-AX88U to Beta1: Seems to be working great. Only problem was DDNS. Needed to regenerate certificate as stated by others.

    [ 3004.388.6 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

AX-88U updated. No problems (did a power cycle as suggested above).

WANFailover Dual WAN Failover ***v2 Release***

So, I have an primary ISP with IPv4 & IPv6 and a backup ISP with IPv4 only. Should I enable the advanced option: Added new option to block IPv6 in Failover Mode from traversing Secondary WAN. Configuration Option: Failover Block IPv6 --> enable ? Will it cause problems if I run these two in...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.11 is now available for AC models

Many thanks to Merlin for keeping my RT-AC88U up to date. It appears that Asus has decided to ignore this old workhorse - last firmware was March of 2022.

AX86u (Merlin 388.1) suddenly a total mess. Any help?

AX-88/388.1: Even though people are saying this is only related to AX86, in order to keep my AX88 running smoothly I auto reboot nightly and still occasionally need to do a power restart - but, when it works it works well. A reboot also stops the guest network. I connect with about 100 devices...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

AX88/388.1: FYI, been rebooting nightly to keep 388.1 running, but noticed lately that every time I reboot I lose the guest network.

    Pihole and IPV6

So, my goal was to get pihole w/unbound working with Asus merlin. This thread got me very close: snbforum link But, I'm lucky enough to have native ipv6, so I placed the pihole ipv6 addresses in the "IPV6/IPV6 DNS settings" and immediately got the "Limiting to 1000 queries per 60 seconds"...

Adding an AIMesh Node - why is this so hard?!?

We may be talking two different cases here. I'm talking about adding an aimesh unit that has never been discovered. Once a unit has been discovered, then I have also had no problems with reestablishing the aimesh unit without moving it, especially if it has an ethernet backhaul.
