Help needed: After 1 year, 2.4G stop working, 5G works fine (Asus RT-AC68U, TM-1900, Firmware Merlin

I think I figured out a solution to my problem with 2.4GHz on my AP router. Not sure how much it applies to other 2.4GHz issues here, but here it is: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/rt-ac87u-2-4ghz-problem.64153/#post-585064

    RT-AC87U 2.4Ghz problem

I think I found the solution. At least it has been working the past hour and I am able to connect/disconnect consistently. To accomplish this I MANUALLY configured my access point as an access point, instead of using the Access Point mode. (Put in Router Mode and disabled WAN, NAT, DHCP, and...

Help needed: After 1 year, 2.4G stop working, 5G works fine (Asus RT-AC68U, TM-1900, Firmware Merlin

Thanks, but this was already disabled on all frequencies on both router/AP in my installation.

Help needed: After 1 year, 2.4G stop working, 5G works fine (Asus RT-AC68U, TM-1900, Firmware Merlin

Boy oh boy this is a tough one. More and more looking like this is not a hardware or firmware (driver) problem. I'd be interested in your opinion to this point: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/rt-ac87u-2-4ghz-problem.64153/#post-584955

    RT-AC87U 2.4Ghz problem

So far I have: Factory reset and manually reconfigured the AP router (running latest Merlin firmware) - no fix REPLACED hardware with same RT-AC87U, installed latest Merlin, factory reset - no fix Rolled back to Merlin 354.4_2, factory reset - no fix Flashed with latest ASUS stock firmware...

Help needed: After 1 year, 2.4G stop working, 5G works fine (Asus RT-AC68U, TM-1900, Firmware Merlin

Dumb question: Is this clear process the same as pressing the "factory reset" button on the back of the router, and/or doing a factory reset from the firmware? My model is different from yours (RT-AC87U).

Help needed: After 1 year, 2.4G stop working, 5G works fine (Asus RT-AC68U, TM-1900, Firmware Merlin

In my case, I am not or have I ever used the USB ports on the router. Thanks for the info however.

Help needed: After 1 year, 2.4G stop working, 5G works fine (Asus RT-AC68U, TM-1900, Firmware Merlin

Sorry, not sure I'm clear. (Still a bit of a neophyte.). By WPS reset you're referring to the nvram clear process you described? BTW, I am not using WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) if that is what you're referring to. It is disabled.

Help needed: After 1 year, 2.4G stop working, 5G works fine (Asus RT-AC68U, TM-1900, Firmware Merlin

OK I will look into that. Download from ASUS website? I actually have RT-AC87U. One is my router and both 5 and 2.4 Ghz works well and reliably. I have a 2nd RT-AC87U, configured as an Access Point, that the 5 Mhz works perfectly, but the 2.4 will not. I could try flashing just the AP box...

Help needed: After 1 year, 2.4G stop working, 5G works fine (Asus RT-AC68U, TM-1900, Firmware Merlin

Well this is frustrating. What type of solution would they not allow you to post? I am having a similar problem (see: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/rt-ac87u-2-4ghz-problem.64153/) and would love to see your solution, even if it turns out not to apply to me.

    RT-AC87U 2.4Ghz problem

OK this one has me stumped. Not that I'm an expert by any stretch... I must be missing something. Situation: I have a one story house built across 2 lots. As such I have a router at one end and an AP at the other. For years I had a Linksys (forgot the model) at each point, probably even a...

Please Help! RT-AC68U wifi can't connect

I had the same problem described here. Had a 2nd RT-AC87U set up as an AP for months working fine and then 2.4Gz quick connecting. It got to the point that I suspected my 2.4Ghz radio was going out, until I got an analyzer and saw it was still there. Tried all sorts of stuff, short of a...

    Guest logins accessing intranet

Hmm. I will have to check to see if any difference between 2.4 or 5. Is it thought that one guest access is broken and one not? Currently I do NOT have AP islolation set to on. However, that would only prevent access between Wifi clients right? And not wired network devices once someone...

    Guest logins accessing intranet

I am running Merlin 380.67 on 3 RT-AC87U's at 3 locations. I'm not sure when it started happening, but clients logged into my Guest Wifi are able to see and access resources on my intranet (printers, NAS, etc). The "access intranet" is disabled. Additional background: Two of the routers are...

Network Map / DHCP List not updating?

I have had an issue since installing Merlin. On version 380.67 This has happened several times as I have been trying to set up a new location using an Asus RT-AC87U. I attach a new device to the network LAN, most recently a printer, DHCP assigns an IP, gateway, etc. as evidenced by device...

OpenVPN server can't see client's LAN on Site to site connection

Never mind. Dumb mistake. Did not have "Username/Password Authentication" enabled on server. Gremlin must have unchecked it for me... Amazing how something so simple can cost one hours and miles driven...

OpenVPN server can't see client's LAN on Site to site connection

Hi all, First post here. I have been lurking and learning over the past week. I am trying to get this going for 3 sites. I followed all steps outlined by several posters here. All is in place, but I am unable to get the VPNClientConnect script to run. Problem is that it appears the username...
