    Transmission anomaly in router

I started noticing this a few months ago after loading the July firmware update. Every day or so I get a tremendous transmission spike. I can't find a matching correlation to any device on the network, and it's not be recorded by my internet provider Comcast. Any idea what's causing this and how...

    Strange entries in my log

Oh wow, thanks. I used to have a lot of notices in the AI Protection logs but that stopped some time ago after a firmware update, not sure why.

    Strange entries in my log

Hello there, longtime listener, occasional caller. I have an AC68W (68U with a white case) running 386.5. I In researching a move to 5_2 I came across some strange entries in my log. Can you give me a clue as to what's going on here? EXAMPLE: Mar 27 13:04:19 kernel: *** ERROR...

Problem with Guest Network (Wrong Password)

I use the guest networks for IoT and had issues because of IP problems on Guest_1 that were documented elsewhere in this forum so I moved to the second column (Guest_2) and it's been rock-solid for months now.

WebUI not working after a while (RT-AC86u)

Yeah you are right! I forgot that I also can get into the WebUI by clearing the Chrome cookies. I notice the hangup occurs much more frequently since I moved to Win10 in January (RIP Win7). I'd like to get to the bottom of it but I'm growing a bit more impatient with age and clunky workarounds...

WebUI not working after a while (RT-AC86u)

Hello! I have a 68-U and I have always had problems getting into the WEbUI after a while. At first I thought it had something to do with my laptop (Win7 at first, later Win10) and was a caching issue. But lately I've come to realize it happens mostly when the router has been running for several...

unknown MAC in my IPS table

Wow, pays to be thorough. That was one of my first thoughts too. The suspect number wasn't on the label and wasn't among the MACs under the 'addresses' tab (got into it by accessing 192.168.100.1) but I just now went back into the cable modem again and looked at my event log ... there are a few...

unknown MAC in my IPS table

Hi there. I've noticed a strange MAC address in my Tw0-Way IPS table and can't find it on my IP assignment table. It's the 00:01:5C:79:BA:46 number in the top left. I'm not real worried (yet) that I have rogue device on my system but it is bothering me a bit. Hope you can see the picture ... any...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

Kind words! This one smarts only because I had considered it early on but rejected it because of the confusion surrounding AiMesh. I guess I should go with my instincts a bit more ('Luke, trust the Force!') and be a bit more like my old self, willing to throw caution to the wind. Thanks again...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

I did see the yellow exclamation blinker, but it's not consistent. And to all of you, thanks so much for the Captain Obvious lesson. I will now slink back to the ether until my next embarrassing episode.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

Sorry if this is obtuse, but you're saying I should use the link under AiMesh. that's been under my nose the entire time, to load the .14 firmware upgrade? Even if I don't use AiMesh? Yowser.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

Yes, I saw the link but it was under 'AiMesh' ... I don't use it so I didn't think it applied to me.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

I can definitely hit Dave143's link. And just now I went from my newish Win 10 machine to my trusty ol' Win 7 workhorse and the same thing happens, no upgrade window. If memory serves, in the past I always downloaded the new version, unpacked it in a folder. I go to the update button, click it...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

This is weird. I just did a factory reset with 384.13 and I still cannot get a link to the update server to download .14. I hit the 'check' button and nothing happens.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

Sysinfo>Internal Storage>NVRAM usage> 54407 / 65536 bytes I suppose if nothing else I could factory reset and start from scratch. I've been doing dirty updates forever and could probably do with a refresh anyway.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

Something is weird. I've got an AC68W (!) running 384.13 and I'm not getting an upgrade prompt. When I click on the 'check' box in Admin>Firmware Upgrade>Check Update panel the arrows spin for a few moments and then nothing. If I click on the blinking yellow exclamation point, it brings me back...

IoT shows up as wired; it's not

Thanks. Like I said, this is low on my list, I was more curious than anything. And next time I'll widen my search parameters before posting.

IoT shows up as wired; it's not

I have a AC68W on 384.5 and it's been running great. This weekend I was reading about this router exploit going around and how IoT devices are susceptible in general and thought maybe it was time to lock down my Trane XL824 wireless thermostat. So earlier today I gave it a static IP on its own...

    Small DHCP IP pool bug

I've noticed the something similar. I've been playing around since 384.5 and after each session I'll reset the router to 192.168.1.1 and reset the DHCP pool to 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.254, leaving the lower addresses for static IPs. But soon after reconfiguration the pool always reverts to...
