    Any Reason EA-AC87 Admin Page is Slooooowwwww?

    Update - Replaced the AC87 with a spare AC1300 router in bridge mode. Speedy. Actually a slight bit faster connection than the AC87 so I'll leave that in place for now and see if I can maybe reflash the 87 and go from there.

    Any Reason EA-AC87 Admin Page is Slooooowwwww?

    Yeah, worth a try. I'll set that up and see if it helps. The router and bridge both seem to always work fine without regularly scheduled reboots so I never considered that. Thanks.

    Any Reason EA-AC87 Admin Page is Slooooowwwww?

    Kind of a lame question but all the "slow" info I can find refers to link speeds and not responsiveness of the admin page so I have to ask - any reason for the admin page to load and react really slow after being pretty snappy for about 4 years? Regularly check the logs and LAN map in both my...

    portsLinkStaus=0 after ac88u 3.0.0.4.385_20585 update

    It's actually been at least 3 years as that's when I bought my RT-AC88U and it's been happening ever since. If anyone knows how to turn this off by SSHing into the router I'd be game to try that solution!

    portsLinkStaus=0 after ac88u 3.0.0.4.385_20585 update

    I'm so tired of this NEVER working. The log is useless and always has been. I'm getting nothing but this "kernel: portsLinkStatus=6" and the usual "dnsmasq[397]: failed to send packet: Operation not permitted" over and over and over and have been for years now in terms of the dnsmasq messages...

    ASUS RT-AC88U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384.81116

    I'm amazed every time firmware is updated that the log file still fills up with gibberish which so overwhelms the log that I never ever seem to capture any meaningful information or at least information I think I SHOULD see. As noted in this and other threads, it's always filled with WLCEVENTD...

    AC88U System log latest firmware

    From what I can tell, this is just gibberish they seem to be unwilling or incapable of suppressing. I look in my router logs all the time and they are full of garbage. No way to stop it over several firmware updates too. So if I'm looking for something really significant I should be actually...

    Asus EA-AC87 Question about wireless clients

    Yeah, my Linksys router compiled a list of IPs which was presented in a static fashion until the lease expired and those IPs dropped off the list. The Asus says "15 Clients" and, when I check to see which ones (should be the same 15 as always) the GUI shows 15 then 10 then 4 then 6 then 9 as I...

    Asus EA-AC87 Question about wireless clients

    First you see it's a bridge and there are 15 clients: Then you see them listed when you click on the Clients link: Only the Roku, AppleTV, Xbox and stereo are connected to 4 of the 5 ports in back. So I THINK I should see only 4 clients (save for my computer which is currently connected to...

    Asus EA-AC87 Question about wireless clients

    Yes, you are correct, I misspoke. The EA-AC87 is set as a Media Bridge, not an Access Point and has 4 items hard-wired to it. The EA-AC87 is then connected to the RT-AC88U wirelessly. So you have it correct. Wireless devices should only be connecting to the router (AC88U), not the bridge...

    Asus EA-AC87 Question about wireless clients

    Here's something that has me confused about my wireless AP and how it lists out connected devices. I have an EA-AC87 in the living room with wired connections to Apple TV, Roku, Xbox, network-connected stereo, etc. It's set as an AP to my Asus RT-AC88U and the connection is fine. Generally no...

    ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 (Owners)

    That's too bad. A detailed log mechanism that does nothing but fill the log up with meaningless garbage is useless and wastes resources.

    ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 (Owners)

    If they did, it's not working on my router (RT-AC88U) which came with 3.0.0.4.380_7743 but I updated to 3.0.0.4.382_15850 when I set it up. So, different router but still the same problem.

    ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 (Owners)

    I just fired up a new RT-AC88U with pretty much default settings and am getting logs filled with this garbage. I don't have QoS enabled and can not for the life of me figure out what "paid app" it's talking about or if it's trying to enable QoS and wants me to just set something and forget it...
