    I have found stability issue for 21045 as well. And because I am a bit busy these few weeks, I just rollback to 9.0.0.4_384_631 for simplicity.     I have a AiMesh setup with 3 nodes: RT-AC88UAP, RT-AC88U node and RT-AC86U node. I tried to upgrade latest release version 3.0.0.4.384.21045 and figured out that there are many case that the Wifi is good and connected but suddenly cannot ping my router/AP/nodes, Wifi still connected properly...

    It seems the RT-AC68U and RT-AC86U has the 648 version, while the RT-AC88U still have very old firmware version in the ASUS site.

    I have some procedures that can help the AiMesh to operate more stable. After changing any settings, I just reboot the nodes first, then followed by rebooting the main router/ap.

    Since RT-AC68U did not supports Smart Connect, it just not working on 68U.

    Enabling UI is not good anyway, since a subset of settings will sync from main router to nodes, those settings that you changed manually may be overwritten during the sync.

    I already used the command wifite -mac in which it will randomize the mac address, still no luck. Will try something more and see how it goes.

    I used 60 seconds, but seems once the router locks up, it will not release until reboot.

    Tried to use wifite and hack my nodes/router with multiple methods, still no luck. I think with WPS on, the nodes/routers are safe except the hacker has physical access to your routers/nodes.
