Release ASUS RT-AX88U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_23748

This release also stops the running of script_usbmount script from running at startup. The workaround shared previous on the 58U thread (https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-rt-ax3000-firmware-version-3-0-0-4-388-23403-2023-05-31.85267/) doesn't seem to be working for me yet. EDIT: After...

    Release ASUS RT-AX3000 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23403 (2023/05/31)

Took a couple days to get to this, but I can confirm on two AiMesh nodes running 3.0.0.4.388.23403, using FAT partitions (didn't bother to reformat), without installing any ASUS download manager or other tools, that this works. On reboot the script defined in "nvram get script_usbmount" gets...

I will try this today on one router without download master and see if this works ok reboot.

    Release ASUS RT-AX3000 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23403 (2023/05/31)

Assuming the disk must be ext2 or ext3? Not FAT. Do we need to enable anything in the router UI for it to execute this?

    Release ASUS RT-AX3000 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23403 (2023/05/31)

I noticed that since upgrading, it doesn't run script_usbmount scripts on boot anymore.

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

Quick question. What is the start-monitor option? Cannot see where it is used but it seems to be a keep alive check. if we are worried about crashes should we be using this feature somehow? great job on this script. Very well done. It has evolved well.

Scribe syslog-ng logrotate no longer rotating messages file

Ok, running scribe and "s" command, it seems to have changed something. It doesn't show that message anymore. It did say it updated the syslog-ng.conf file and updated "checking directory links", so maybe something got messed up.

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

Interesting updates to this thread. I had made this change to the yaml file to see if I could catch better info. No crashes yet, wonder if that is a work around for people running syslog-ng. (scribe).

Scribe syslog-ng logrotate no longer rotating messages file

Just noticed today while looking at logs that my messages file hasn't been rotated and gzipped since last august. When I ran logrotate in debug (via the su menu), I see that file is being skipped. log /opt/var/log/messages is symbolic link. Rotation of symbolic links is not allowed to avoid...

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

I am good with that. But I will modify by hand and test. Also turned on syslog for Adguard. From what I could see in the querylog it had crashed about 20 minutes before I realized. Looking to see if it generates any crash log info, but main syslog had no events during the gap which looked...

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

Every few days... I will need to start digging deeper... love running this on the router instead of on my main box. My blocklists add up to around 147K, so not too much I feel. I don't think this is memory releated. What is the harm of running the checks every 15 or even 5 minutes? 3...

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

Noticed two small issues: 1. I had an original S61 init.d file. The script seems to create a the new S99 version (with cru for restart) but then overwrites S61 (old content) during upgrade. Didn't validate S99 new was created, but had to install twice to get the correct S99 file. 2. during...

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

Just to share that is hasn't happened for a few days now. It seems to have done this while I was configuring it and was getting some errors with unbound not configured properly. I have a theory that it was related to a number of devices hammering on DNS. But being a very important service...

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

Will it fix it automatically? or do we need to uninstall and re-install? Or can I just rename the file to S99...?

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

Yes, it has crashed (or shutdown) on me quite a few times.... Thinking we need to decide upon the best plant to auto-restart. But my experience with init.d setup is limited... so didn't have time to learn more yet.

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

Thank you. You changed the same part I was playing with. But you did it right. Installs now and doesn’t crash. Now to configure. Thank you.

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

Seems the download URL it builds is no longer valid. Looking to see what to change it to so I can install. It isn't the URL but the check for branch before it downloads. I forced it, but the version of Adguard it downloads seems to heap crash for me.

Unbound AdGuard in unbound breaks AWS Unified Search

Correct. It removes it when it loads the file. It doesn’t change the downloaded file.

Unbound AdGuard in unbound breaks AWS Unified Search

wildcards don’t work as I recall. Needs to be an exact match. It simple removes any matches from the block list.

Unbound Impressive Unbound native RPZ files collection for adblocking and more

Nice, thanks for sharing. This has really grown for rpz support as when I researched last year there was very little. This is a better way to block ads as well then the built in script, but only just slightly, as the current adblocking scripts do unload and reload rules without restarting unbound.
