    Asus AX89X still worth?

I misspoke during my initial response. I was thinking about my AX88U when I answered that question. The antennas on my AX89X are not removable, but they fold snugly against the top of the router. I don't use the wireless function of the router and my antennas remain in the lowered position, and...

The antennas can be easily remove.

    Asus AX89X still worth?

For $250, I am not sure you will find a more capable device that appears to fit your specifications. It does have a Qualcomm CPU, which Merlin does not support. I am using an AX89X in the same manner you describe, and it works flawlessly.

    RT-AX86U to be discontinued?

    Doesn't the RT-AX89X have a faster CPU?

    RT-AX89X

Thanks guys. With your input I believe I am prepared for any eventuality that may occur. I have DAC, Fiber Cables, SFP+ and SFP+ RJ45 modules on hand, which were designed for various enterprise applications.

    RT-AX89X

Thanks for the information. Which SFP+ module are you using?

    RT-AX89X

I have a RT-AX89X ordered, and I am preparing all of the accessories needed to hit the ground running when it arrives. I am aware that the 10G RJ45 port can be configured as WAN or LAN. Can the SFP+ port be configured as a LAN port?

VPN by groups on RT-AX89X or RT-AX86U

Policy based routing will allow you to exclude your television, or any other devices you choose, from VPN. You decide which devices are connected to VPN, and which ones are excluded.

    RT-AX89X

Thanks for the information regarding the hardware version. I see Amazon US in now advertising the RT-AX89X, sold and shipped by Amazon, for $449.99, with a June 9 delivery date. Are they that much in demand, or are there supply chain issues?

    RT-AX89X

Anyone know why the RT-AX89X is, and has been, out of stock at many retailers, including on the ASUS web site. There are some that have it, but many of them have implemented significant price increases. Also, is anyone aware of the latest H/W Version?

    RT-AX89X

Can the AX89X be configured to use one of the 10Gb ports as a lan port?

    386.4 breaking 5GHZ wireless network on RT-AX88U

Dirty upgrade to 386.4 on AX88U, and not experiencing issues with 5GHz.

    RT-AX89X

Not sure you need the AX89X to achieve OpenVPN speeds above 200 Mbps. I get 238 Mbps down, and 175 Mbps up, with an AX88U using NordVPN on a 1GBs up/down fiber connection.

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.9 Beta is now available

I have a RT-AX88U, Rev. A1, and have installed all of the Alpha builds and have not experienced any issues (2.4 or 5 GHz) with wifi. For those experiencing problems, what hardware version do you have?

[384.9_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

I agree with your assessment regarding what may occur. I believe there are some environmental reasons that have reduced, not eliminated, the likely hood of interference at my location. Based on some topographical maps I have seen I believe my MSL altitude is lower than both the ARSR-1 and ASR11...

[384.9_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

I understand your concern. Prior to purchasing the RT-AX88U, I used a Linksys WRT3200 for over a year, running DD-WRT using DFS Channels, and never had an issue with any of my 5GHz devices. The same has held true for the RT-AX88U, and I get the fastest wireless speeds using this configuration...

I have a RT-AX88U and I have no issues with 5GHz wireless operations. I live 2.92 miles from a FAA Long Range ARSR-1 radar site, and 2.90 miles from a FAA ASR-11 radar installation.
